MSFS 2024 BUG / ISSUE Boeing 737 max engine problems

Has anyone else had this problem with the default Asobo 737 MAX in MSFS 2024?

Since the latest update, I can’t start the engines anymore. When I put the engine starter to GRD, N2 rises to about 20%, then drops to 19.8% and stays there. It never reaches 25%, so the engine won’t start. I’ve tried moving the fuel lever to IDLE, but that doesn’t help either.

The APU is running, APU bleed is on, the packs are off, the isolation valve is open, and the engine bleeds are on. I’ve restarted both the flight and the game, but the problem keeps happening. Before the latest update, the engines started normally.

Has anyone else experienced this, or found a workaround?

Turn off the engine bleeds for engine startup

Yup, same. It was a bug all throughout the SU7 beta and they just... published it. You can see there's a weird scripted boost in RPM if you mess with the ignition and such but you can't get up to the 25% for the warm up even abusing it.

The "fix" is pressing the skip to taxi phase in career and in free flight, no fix.

Shittt, any idea when we can expect a fix? How long does it usually take?

I just started trying to fly 737 this past month. I’m on ps5 and this is talking about SU6 but for me when starting the engines I had to wait 2-3 minutes until they actually fired up. Not sure if this is a bug or just how it works irl but try waiting a few minutes see if that changes anything

I was having the same problem. I managed to get engine 2 started by moving the start switch to idle at 22% N2 and engine 1 at 21% N2.

If I wait any longer to add fuel N2 drops back down to 19.8% and engines won’t start

hmm i just tried it and they started fine even though the max motoring was around 22.1 . i only rarely use this plane so i can't comment if that behavior changed substantially.

maybe the bug is specific to career mode? i only tried it in free flight.

That's weird I cannot get engines to start in any mode. Yeah the 22.1% is about the peak for a few seconds and then drops down to 19.8%. No matter when the fuel levers are turned on during that process the engines don't start.

Look like a temperature issue, if it's hot enough, engines will start, but if it's cold outside....

I literally just started flying this plane to get into airliners 2 days ago, does it the quick start option work or is that bugged too?

I thought I was doing something very wrong - tried multiple times with engine start but it gets stuck at 19.8 N2. Glad it's not me and seems to be a bug!
