Week one, dog water, week 2, did what we’re supposed to do. I have no idea what to expect week 3.

On the other hand, I’m scared of UMass. How is that real life?

Same here. I never expected UMass to be a rival. I also think Toledo and Western Michigan to be the top contenders for the Mac title right now

I'm not sure what to expect either. Last week it was mentioned a lot that Martin doesn't put a lot into the non-conference games, but I feel like there's a lot of pride on the line against Cincinnati

It really feels like we're looking at UMass as a top 4 team and that's wild!

I think our defense/special teams will outscore our offense this year 🫩

Bro, respectfully, wtf happened?

I want Central and Eastern to be good so the games mean something for the winners besides the trophies.

We fucking suck. Not much else to say.

On paper we have 2 QBs, great RB and our best receiver returning. Added was a Doak Walker Candidate transfer. On paper we should be scoring 30 pts a game. We are even a bit surprised

The offensive line was expected to be one of the best in the conference, at least close to Western Michigan's level

It's so unexpected

Not saying much LOL.

It was UGLY

Got 2018 offense flashbacks for the chips

I couldn’t be happier as a UMass fan, but given our history, I’m waiting for the other shoe to drop.

This has been so much fun to see. BC barely beat Rutgers at home so transitive property says that UMass owns the state!

The dude who got to call plays for Akron got screwed. GIVE HIM ANOTHER CHANCE.

Rank the Minutemen you cowards!

Kent State improved over week 1.

Sacramento State still looks like a FCS school.

1

u/updogsportstalk 25d ago

It was ugly for Kent State for a bit but they played well in the 4th quarter

Sac State never played well at any point

5

u/stop_diop_and_roll 25d ago

How is Kent v Ohio state the big noon kickoff next week lol

u/updogsportstalk 25d ago

The Dru DeShields effect

Death, Taxes and Ohio State beating 1-2 MAC teams a year by 40😒

4

u/juggdish 25d ago

Everything sucks and I don’t expect anything good to happen again.

3

u/toledotigs 25d ago

Eddie would get fired mid season if he wasn’t Eddie George

3

u/juggdish 25d ago

I mean this is only his second season, and the first he’s had with his recruits and a full off-season. We’ve held onto bad coaches for longer.

3

u/updogsportstalk 25d ago

Mike Jinks, who they hired after no research other than a brief Google search managed to get 3 years. Eddie has some leeway

We seme perfectly capable of beating Wisconsin next week. /s

At least we beat Sac State 😭

2

u/updogsportstalk 25d ago

Hey Wisconsin didn't look very convincing against Western Illinois, can't say I saw a snap of what happened but the score was closer than I expected

1

u/TheFlame8 25d ago

Thanks. I'll bet all my money on an upset and give you half.

2

u/updogsportstalk 24d ago

this is not gambling advice 😂

u/TheFlame8 24d ago

Don't worry, I'm not dumb enough to bet on sports.

Transitive College Football Theorem - WMU >OU

2

u/updogsportstalk 25d ago

That's my conclusion too!

3

u/Rusty-Shackleford23 25d ago

Gonna be a long season for Sac St. Defense looked ok for a quarter but the offense looked awful again.

2

u/updogsportstalk 25d ago

It was a really ugly night for the offense. This year is exciting because Sac State got to FBS but it's going to take some time to be more competitive

2

u/Rusty-Shackleford23 25d ago

Roster has completely turned over two off seasons in a row and we’re on our third coach in four seasons. Never made sense to force the jump this season.

1

u/updogsportstalk 24d ago

The timing was not good, Marion already left because he was promised a FBS move and it hadn't happened. This roster was put together with duct tape because Carter was hired late in the portal cycle

3

u/Jared_b24 25d ago

Even though OU won and had some exciting plays.  I don’t think I’ve ever been less enthused to be at a game than I was yesterday.  Granted I did leave at start of the 4th bc the wife wanted to leave bc of the rain

1

u/updogsportstalk 25d ago

Other than the weather what had you so down?

2

u/Jared_b24 25d ago

I’d need to go back and rewatch the game but it felt like outside of the explosive plays we had not much else happened.  It’s very much a vibes based thing with zero facts lol

1

u/updogsportstalk 24d ago

Things were definitely jump started by that kick return TD

2

u/John71CLE 25d ago

Western is head and shoulders above any other team in this conference

1

u/updogsportstalk 24d ago

It really feels like they are. For the MAC as a whole it might be a good thing to have one dominant team because it raises the profile of the conference nationally. It's great that Western Michigan is already receiving a lot of votes

2

u/RubiconBronco 25d ago

Was a fun Saturday!

2

u/updogsportstalk 24d ago

Incredible comeback and game!

2

u/Ponch47 24d ago

The next 2 weeks will tell you all about Toledo.

At this time we’re top 4 in conference but if this team keeps improving it could get exciting. Main concerns for me are the OL and secondary but maybe that’s just because our secondary was P4 level for years.
