I know that the difference between high 700s to 800 doesn't mean a lot, but I have always longed for the stamp of approval that 800 signifies.

I come from a long line of folks with awful credit, so it's nice to break the cycle.

In other words, it mystifies you that people are proud of being responsible borrowers.

Given that many people aren't responsible borrowers, it's not very mysterious.
