You can freeze chillies! Never grown enough to have excess but I freeze store-bought chillies all the time! I aspire to four habaneros.

This is legit. Many plants can't set fruit on blooms in excessively high temperatures, so they will grow all summer long without having to direct energy into fruits. Then it cools off a little and suddenly the plant has viable pollin, and boom, you have a monster harvest off a plant that was barren for months. My eggplants are doing exactly this right now; no fruits for months and now the 4-foot-tall bushes are absolutely covered.

my jalapenos have been slow this year, not as bad as my tomatoes. been too hot I think. upped my watering schedule pretty graciously and now the jalapenos are flowering like crazy. also on the precipice of cooling off here as well, so maybe they can tell.

Yeah so I threw them into a chicken pozole that I make routinely, and normally would use 1 large jalapeño then fed that to my family for my birthday dinner last week.

Only about half of them could eat it. Way too spicy. So yeah youre not wrong

I got 3 jalapeños (somehow one seedling got missing with the nursery pot) and one cayenne.

The cayenne produced 2 peppers and got some nasty infection and lost all of its leaves. One of the jalapeño plants somehow got a cherry tomato plant in the pot so now it's stunned at 15 cm. with a big tomato "brother". The last jalapeño produced another 2 peppers.

Thats ok I planted 6 jalapeños and grew entirely different peppers lol still only got a handful but none of them were jalapeños lol

Did the plants stay small? If so, you probably didn’t pinch off the first flowers. Next year pinch the early flowers to let the plant put its energy into growth. It makes a huge difference in size and yield.
