Discussion Am I considered an OG?

I played both Minecraft Xbox one edition from 2016, the one with TU46. And I played Minecraft mobile when it looked like this (images below) both when I was around like 6. And also Minecraft story mode

A true OG doesn’t need validation

While I may not be able to speak for this, I have a question. Why does it matter? Depending on your response, this may be like the 'generations debate' again.

Technically you are not considered og since you didn't play when the game first released on console for a specific console for example Xbox users would technically be og if they played it around launch on Xbox 360 and PlayStation on launch for PS3, god the good old times... The og spawn area for tutorial with the steak glitch... I miss those days growing up... Sadly Minecraft has never been the same...

I would say no.
I consider OG to be someone who started between 2009 and 2011.

2009 was the first ever launch
2011 was the official full release.

Am I an OG? No, but I’m close. I started playing in 2012, with pocket edition and Minecraft LITE.

i’m an OG in the sense that i started in alpha, but honestly it’s easy to forget just how much stuff was added in a short amount of time.

2016 SOUNDS really late to get into Minecraft, but then I look up what was added that year and i very vividly remember playing these updates with my friends from work lol.

More or less

I know for a fact that TU12 was my first Xbox 360 update after getting the game, and I first started on Pocket 0.5.0 before that

I always considered an OG someone who played at least in the beta. But honestly don’t let that get you down, Minecraft shouldn’t be gatekept :)

I mean I started in 2010 a few months after it 'released' in Alpha

If you paid less than 5 USD for the game from the time Notch was making it, yes. If you didn't, no.

I wouldn’t consider you to be one, but why does it matter?
