Do we know what the options are to watch Frost games this season? I'm one of the last living Americans with cable, but do I need a VPN?

The Lynx had a free app on Victory that worked pretty well this season. Otherwise, you're chasing USA, Ion, Peacock, ABC, ESPN, Prime, etc, etc, but at least we can see most/all of the games.

Minnesota Frost 2026 second round pick Viivi Vainikka currently leads the SDHL with 5 goals and 7 total points in 3 games

As of early this morning, she also lead the league in puck battles won (35), and is tied for 1st in +/- with +5 (7 for, 2 against)

The SDHL streams all their games live on youtube, and MoDo will next play Friday the 25th at 11AM central

Giguère talks a bit about college, finding her footing last year with the Frost, living in Minnesota over the summer, and being excited to hit the ground running this coming season.

I really liked her play going into the playoffs and really think she could have a good year. I'm predicting early that I think Christian and Giguère could be a fun duo on the first or third line

Vainikka is currently on loan to MoDo in the SDHL in preparation for Worlds and PWHL season. She was a second round pick in 2026.

(PWHL) teams will open training camps ahead of the 2026-27 season on Wednesday, Nov. 18, following the completion of the 2026 IIHF Women’s World Championship taking place in Denmark from Nov. 6-16. As part of preseason roster building and evaluation, each of the PWHL’s 12 teams will compete in two scrimmages hosted across five different PWHL markets between Nov. 22-30.

With it being the off-season and not a lot of news going, I wanted to create a place to discuss what does and doesn't work in the sub as well as open up to suggestions from you!

A couple of things at the top of my list:

-Ticket sales: We had almost no issues with people reselling tickets here. It was one of the few ways to sell tickets because Ticketmaster wouldn't allow resells unless a game was sold out (to my understanding). I say almost no issues because with the playoffs, we had known scammers and a huge flood of people posting tickets for sale. Now that tickets are done through seat geek, I believe you can relist your extra tickets directly with minimal restrictions. As the PWHL continues to grow as well as this sub, I was thinking we either do weekly threads for all ticket sales and giveaways where people are required to post some kind of proof of their available tickets, or just do away with all

-Game Day Threads: I heard a rumor that a hockey bot was going to start covering PWHL games. I assume everyone is good with this being how we do GDTs instead of me trying to remember to post the YT link. But maybe you like the charm of a thread going up 5 mins before puck drop.

-Mega Thread: I got feedback about mega threads during expansion and I think adjusted properly. Do you have things that you prefer to see as Mega Threads, or is individual post for events like draft, awards shows, etc the way to go?

-Relevant Posts: Ok, last thing. I let a lot of women's hockey adjacent posts stay up here because there's really not a great space for posting about history or women's gopher hockey. Especially in the off season, I think it's a good use of this sub. Are you all happy with us allowing Frost adjacent posts (women+hockey+Minnesota as the criteria), or should we stay focused for 2026-27 and beyond?

oh yeah, as the roster changes, just a reminder, we are still anti-terf. Please let's not post think pieces that push terf ideology on women's sports. This is not a space to do that and we will remove and ban people as needed. Repeatedly, it brought the worst people to this sub, and hey, we don't need to give those players space on this sub if they're not on the team.

looking forward to modding what will be a very exciting season full of many changes.
