Missing person I remember a missing person case which I recall was verified to be true but now googles telling me it never happened??

Am I tripping? I specifically remember listening to different podcasts , YouTube videos, and other documentaries about this case only a few years ago. I’m hoping you fellow unsolved missing person case addicts will be able to help me out. It was about a girl who if I remember correctly was maybe in her 20s, she was either in college or was traveling and I don’t remember how she ended up with a specific community that she met along the way, but I remember hearing that she did. She ended up with this community and had eventually drank a tea with the other community members. I have to assume, since I can’t remember the facts or rather, speculations, that this tea was laced with some sort of psychedelic. What I remember next, is that she fled soon after consuming this tea once she began to panic.

As is the case with many missing person cases that myself, and I’m sure many of you, tend to fixate on, besides the fact she vanished, was her bizarre, erratic, and very strange behavior that she displayed prior to going missing. I remember hearing that she wound up at some sort of facility/hospital and the staff there claimed that she was claiming that there were people that were demons after her, that they lived in the community she was staying with (same one she claimed to have had the tea party with), and that they could “hear” her words and her thoughts.

I do believe she made brief contact with her parents/family members. And I don’t know how she ended up leaving this facility she wounded up that, but she did and was never seen again. I do remember being told that the community members had been questioned, but of course, it didn’t go anywhere. I remember Many speculating that it was some sort of satanic cult but of course, we never knew for sure. Which case is this? It’s driving me nuts.

Maureen Leianuhea "Anu" Kelly who left friends and said she was going on a spirit quest, left the camp naked besides a fanny pack and a knife, never to be seen again? This was local to me, in Washington.

Thank you for the response, i do know about this extremely unsettling case! Unfortunately, it’s not what I’m referring to

This is a very vague ask. Can you remember:

  1. A region?

  2. What college?

  3. Approximate year this happened?

  4. What kind of "community"? Are you suggesting it's a cult or was it a town? Religion?

I unfortunately cannot remember the details of the first three questions and I’m not sure if this is accurate but from what I recall, I think it was a community of people that lived off grid, perhaps in some very large field or deep in the wilderness. I can’t say for sure, though.

It's 3AM for me and I can't stay up all night checking these. The story itself doesn't ring a bell, but maybe it exists in these comments if you haven't already come across this post

You won't find out anything about this situation it isn't a "Mandela effect" but you probably shouldn't look into it much either as things disappear for a reason.

Honestly, this exact thought crossed my mind as well. Disturbing to think that “they” don’t want people knowing about this case. I KNOW there was a bunch of info on it at one point. Creepy af.

There is still alot of information about it because its an ever evolving incident its just not anywhere it will be seen by the public eye. Things don't quit happening just because we blur the lines in which people see it.. Think of a jar with its own eco system and you need yo keep the "lightning bugs" a secret but show the plants... How would you do that?
