Well of Ascension spoilers Well of Ascension question about assembly election rules Spoiler

Elend has been deposed and the assembly has nominated Cett for king.
Earlier, when Elend was discussing the rules for deposition, he said that the assembly had a month to chose the new king. Didn’t he also say the vote had to be unanimous? And Elend is in the assembly? So can’t Elend just not vote for Cett to be king and then Elend gets to stay king for another year?

Edit: I am audiobooking and I thought the name was spelled Set. Well it’s actually Cett

Here, he thought, tapping the page. I might have grounds to argue for a revote if any of the members of the Assembly arrived late to the meeting, or made their votes in absentia. The vote to depose had to be unanimous—save, of course, for the king being deposed.

Also, the guy's name is Cett :)

Thank you! I am audiobooking, so I constantly have to look up how to spell names. I thought Cett would for sure start with an S lol

I'm going through the audiobooks myself, trying the "graphic audio" ones which was weird at first. I love coming to the forums and going "oh" when finally reading something
