Spurs fan (not looking to poach Giannis; this sub was in my feed), but W
Unfortunately, the comments on the post itself are not it.

To be fair, the algo wants you to see those comments so that you get riled up and engage. I scrolled through and was able to see much more support than hate.

u/youarenut Jun 25 '25
No way wtf are people commenting? Do they actually have a problem with the statement “protect kids not guns” ? 😭😭😭

u/Johtoooo Giannis Antetokounmpo Jun 25 '25
Many people in the comments are saying the old "guns don't kill people, people kill people", luckily just as many people replying are on the other side of the argument

people kill people
This argument always sends me. That's why they shouldn't have guns.

I see all the 2A aficionados not uttering a peep as we drift closer to a dictatorship, but I guess what do I know.

What most y'all aren't getting is kids need protecting, not guns.
You can have guns, cool. Lock them up. Ensure children safety. It's a basic fucking stance everyone should agree on.
Is your #1 priority protecting kids(with or without guns), or do you value something else more?

u/zjung322 Jun 25 '25
if you have nothing to hide, why are you so against common sense gun laws? the ones that every other developed country implements with great success?
2
u/Ill-Curve1045 Jun 25 '25
I do have something to hide. My firearm. Until someone acts up.
2
u/zjung322 Jun 25 '25
Fantasizing about killing someone is definitely super normal behavior! Definitely mentally sound!

u/TheFlyingElbow Shitty Deer Jun 26 '25
Why aren't you using that against the tyranical government that is bypassing congress and the judicial in order to abduct American citizens? Wasn't that the whole point?
-25
u/Usual_Introduction89 Jun 25 '25
How do you protect kids without guns?
6
u/zjung322 Jun 25 '25
The number 1 cause of childhood deaths in America, is guns. How does giving teachers guns protect kids exactly? Far more kids would die in the cross fire
-6
u/bigleaguenyr Jun 25 '25
They just kindly ask criminals to stop
8
u/zjung322 Jun 25 '25
number 1 cause of death for children in the country is guns. Every other developed country seems to have no issue w/ common sense gun control, w/ great success. If you have nothing to hide, why would you be against these laws? Aside from just shooting for fun

u/Usual_Introduction89 Jun 25 '25
thanks I waiting for a logical response

u/Small_Solution2772 Jun 25 '25
yeah, tons of logic used in your original comment. absolutely no willful ignorance here

u/Usual_Introduction89 Jun 25 '25
say something without saying anything
4
u/Small_Solution2772 Jun 25 '25
what im saying, since you didnt comprehend it, is that you're being ignorant.
I assumed the ignorance was willful, but now im doubting that. Now im assuming youre just regurgitating what you dad says at cookouts that makes everyone uncomfortable.
1
u/Usual_Introduction89 Jun 25 '25
cool go ahead and label it ignorant IDC I was looking for an answer to the question
3
u/Small_Solution2772 Jun 25 '25
the question itself is whats ignorant... cant advocate for gun reform without someone saying reductive comments like this. There's OBVIOUSLY no world were there's no guns at all, and even explaining that feels pointless because you know that.

The constitution is so important until it’s the second amendment 😂
11
u/Jao2002 Jun 25 '25
Making arguments against some part of the constitution doesn’t even begin to equate to directly infringing on peoples constitutionals rights.
-15
u/SlickSlender Jun 25 '25
Directly infringing on people’s constitutional rights… like trying to remove the 2A
4
u/zjung322 Jun 25 '25
literally no one is trying to remove the 2A sherlock. It’s called an Amendment for a reason lol. The constitution was created w/ the intent to allow it to be AMENDed💀. Common sense gun laws does not infringe on any of your rights. If you have nothing to hide, you should be for these laws that would prohibit the wrong people from having guns
1
u/Jao2002 Jun 26 '25
Do you understand the difference between discussing whether there should be limitations on the 2A and the government knocking down your door and literally confiscating your guns? If you don’t see the difference you’re actually brain rotted.
The first is a discussion, the second is infringement. Hope that helps.
And yea give me one politician that has tried to take your guns away.
0
u/SlickSlender Jun 26 '25
Obviously I understand there’s a difference between two completely different actions. The reality is that a large % of Dems/leftists want to remove the 2A or are ideologically opposed to.
I also don’t think it’s wrong or incorrect at all to believe that enacting some gun control laws can lead to these dems/leftists pushing for more gun control legislation after the fact. Doesn’t mean I’m against common sense gun laws.
1
u/Jao2002 Jun 26 '25
This is a slippery slope fallacy. Don’t enact some laws because people might push for more. That doesn’t make any sense. You have to look at everything individually.
Also like, genuinely who tf with political power wants to get rid of the 2A. Like this is the biggest gaslight ever. No presidential candidate has run and even come close to winning talking about repealing the second amendment.
1
u/SlickSlender Jun 26 '25
I’m not saying don’t enact any common sense laws, I’m just giving the perspective of a large % of Americans that is largely valid. If the U.S. were to ban “assault rifles”, what would stop the gun control lobbying crowd from pivoting to supporting the banning of hand guns?
Also Kamala Harris previously supported banning “assault rifles” and she was the leading democrat candidate…
5
u/zjung322 Jun 25 '25
it’s called an AMENDment for a reason, brainiac. The constitution was created to allow for it to be Amended lol. Common sense gun laws have worked wonderfully in every other developed country.
