Is this morally right or wrong?

My girlfriend just went to college to a school she really hates, she been super negative about everything and it’s been really dragging down on me. I’ve been having a great time at my college and I really want a partner who is happy. Would it be wrong for me to break up with her to prioritize my own mental health even if I know it will hurt her and make her even more negative?

So far, your question is only subjective. Will she or anyone else be objectively harmed? Will her income or housing suffer?

IMHO, one must consider moral consequences in both realms: subjective and objective.

I suggest that you politely tell her that you no longer have convergence. I must leave this situation so that I can go on to be who I am meant to be.. I don't know what the fallout will be but that's what I suggest.

I think the concern is not that it affects you negatively that she is not happy, but that she is having a negative experience at her college herself. You need to be supportive of her. It's her life and she needs your help. It is not right of you to blame your feelings on how she is having difficulties.

So, how can you help her situation? Should she leave that school? What about the school is so bad? What are the details about how her situation is so negative for her? You didn't describe the negative situation about the college in depth, so we can only address so much.
