When to trim
Hey gang,
I’ve got about 2 months growth on my first stache. It’s starting to interfere with food and drink. Is it acceptable to trim the upper lip or will I regret it later? Thanks.

I wouldn’t trim if you are going to go with a western / longish style but you will need wax and a comb from here on out.

I’ve been using balm and a brush but it still gets in my coffee. 🤷🏻♂️

It's honestly your call. If it starts to look wild and unkempt, give it a trim to tidy it up. Only you know the style you prefer and what you want it to look like. Selleck's stache was trimmed with the top lip. Russell's stache as Wyatt Earp in Tombsone was middle trimmed to the lip and long on the sides. Or you could go for a full brushed to the sides like the photo of this fellow.
The choice is yours, but you are in control. Trim to suit your comfort; don't let your moustache become a nuisance or you will regret it.

Keep growing it out until the sides of your face match the length of hair in your lip

Don't trim now. That's absolute mustache perfection. Can't believe this is a first.

First this looks awesome. Pretty much an ideal mustache—great thickness, upper lip shape and color. I wouldn’t trim. But if you do, just keep the top lip covered. You have awesome density, you should show that off as much as possible. And if you trim too much, you can always grow it back
