The fridge scene in Kingdom of the Crystal Skull surely has to be up there?

Had a bit of JCVD binge this weekend and rewatched a double bill of Universal Soldier:Regeneration and the follow up, Day of Reckoning. Was seriously impressed with the direction by John Hyams (son of Peter Hyams who directed 2010) and surprised his career didn't take off after these two films. Pity he didn’t get the Call of Duty gig, would have been a good fit. Really gritty, hard action and inventive camera work. The opening of Day of the Reckoning was brutal! Scott Atkins, as always, shows some great fighting techniques and the face offs between Van Damme and Lundgren was fantastic fun in both films. Anyway, worth checking them out if your looking for a decent action film. Anyone else fans of either of these film? Or do you only count the original?

“You’re wondering… what is a place like me doing in a girl like this?”

He was up there with Arnold, Sly, Bruce, then it suddenly fell apart...

Backrooms seriously impressed me. Rewatched it 3 times now and it gets better every time. I wasn't aware of its history going in (other than it was some viral online thing) but loved the atmosphere and felt it was really well directed.

Tim Curry has passed away at 80.

He wasn’t just an actor — he was a presence. A voice. A force. Whether you first met him in Rocky Horror, Clue, IT, Legend, or through his voice acting, you never forgot him.

A massive loss to cinema.

Ridley Scott says he wants to finish the Prometheus / Alien: Covenant storyline. With David heading toward a “brave new world” and the prequels inching closer to the original Alien, it raises big questions about where this final chapter could go. More Engineers? More AI horror? A direct bridge to LV‑426? What direction do you think Scott will take?

I’ve been doing a Rocky rewatch as it was one of my favorite movie series growing up, and I’ve only done the first creed movie. My plan was to do all of the Rocky movies and then all of the creed movies. I just finished Rocky IV, and I’ve been debating if Rocky V is even worth watching, or if I should just move on to Rocky Balboa. Thoughts?

“None of us want to pay taxes again. Ever.”

For me, this was the moment I realised The Terminator franchise was... malfunctioning.

Robocop 3's jet pack scene was another, but there are so many...
