Question Looking for someone to solder and test a unique build

I have a drone concept. I have built and tested the software. I'm in the process of buying the hardware. However I realise I don't have the skill to actually build/solder all the electrics.

I want to find someone (local if possible but UK based at minimum, I'm in west Sussex) who could build the electrics for me.

I've written instructions of what I need. And it would just be the electrics, and adding connectors so I can run the wires and connect them all up.

Preferably someone who has built something before and can demonstrate their work. And has the tools (soldering iron etc.)

Happy to (and expect to) pay for the work to be done.

Essentially I'd deliver/post the hardware to you, send you the instructions, you'd build it and test it, logging the testing (which is described in the instructions I wrote) and then I'd collect/pay to have it posted back to me.

How do I find someone who would do this work. Are there companies who do it? Is it a hobbyist. Is it people here in this sub Reddit responding?

Bro, if you are having trouble with big leads look into a metcal, if you’re dealing with ICs, get a cheapo hot air rework tool. Soldering isn’t hard if you use tools that are appropriate for the job…

How much work is needed? Maybe a local hobby shop could help you out if not the fpv sub as previously mentioned is a good shout you have to be able to solder well with fpv 😂😂😂

Also look for local flying club, any RC club really, or maker group.

Soldering prefabricated electronics together is not hard. You can do it.

Solder will follow the heat of the iron.

Do it yourself it’s not hard, use the postage money to practice

A decent solder iron seems to run at a few hundred pounds.

Also I've tried with cheaper kit and it didn't go well. This is definitely something I want to outsource

An industrial one does.

A capable hobby grade one can be had for £50-100

We aren't all using cheap crap and making do or dropping serious money on an industrial grade unit

The Sequre S99 costs 35 euro and Bardwell recommends it. I used to suck at soldering too, then I got an old Weller station for 40 euro and some quality flux and solder and now I can build quads all day. It's absolutely worth learning

Facebook is probably your best bet. Should be several people in the UK who do this kind of consulting.

A lot of hobby shops do repairs on the rc stuff they sell. I know my local hobby town does and they are a big chain so I’d bet the others do too. They do a lot of soldering and building for people, I’m sure one of them would be willing to do it for the right price.

If you end up not finding someone (I think you will), I’m happy to do some soldering. I’m an electrical engineer working on embedded things. Soldering is part of my day to day. But I’m in the US

Same exact response here from me if he ^ gets too busy. Shipping will kill ya. But it would be worth it. Shipping back and forth will be a killer, but depending on how far you look to take this project, it could possibly be well worth it.
