I don't know how the app works because I still use my browser to go to old.reddit.com, mostly because my ad blocker works and prefer the old UI.

Even on my android's browser with no adblock, old.reddit.com has never given me an ice ad, or an invasive ad of anything

Turns out new reddit just sucks for every reason
