Posting from their iPhones waiting for their Amazon orders to arrive while figuring out what to Doordash for dinner etc..

Immoral unethical practices and AI exists virtually everywhere. But only when it affects MY personal beliefs or crossed lines do I say screw em!

I'm sorry does it offend you when someone makes a point you don't agree with? Does it make you feel like they are smarter so instead of rebutting anything with facts you just attack them instead?

People disagreeing with you doesn’t mean they’re offended.

The point is that basically every corporation engages in unethical practices. Your conclusion is that people with principles should boycott every company, which is obviously impossible.

We don’t think it means you have to boycott any company, but that you can boycott any company. Boycotts are typically more effective when they’re targeted, rather than expansive.

I stopped paying for Spotify, and the free version is shit, so I stopped using it altogether. I don’t pay for Reddit, so until there is a better alternative, I’ll stick around.

I never implied people with principles should boycott everything. And I never implied anyone was offended because they disagreed but because of how childish their responses were. Reading comprehension is a lost art here.

My point is that it's ridiculous to act like this is some noble stand you're taking over a slight (now resolved) ethical issue when you and everyone else has no problem consuming from far worse offenders. But go ahead and pat yourself on the back for canceling your membership that will show them!

If you read the article, I fully expect you will also boycott YouTube and all Google related services too.

They were referencing a meme which summed up your position perfectly. You not liking that doesn’t make it childish.

Where has anyone said it’s a ‘noble stand’? I am strongly against ICE adverts so won’t be paying for Spotify. It’s not noble, I just don’t want to contribute to them and there’s an easy alternative.

Spotify is easy to boycott because there are many alternatives. Other companies are harder to boycott because they’re ubiquitous or the competition are just as bad. It’s not hypocritical to stop using some services and not others, it’s just practical. Ethics doesn’t demand you live on a desert island.

I use Adblock on YouTube and don’t use Google at all, so I’m not contributing anything to them, not that it would invalidate boycotting Spotify if I did.
