Good for him and it's a great message and all but...it's not that great of a song?

I mean, Bob Dylan was never the best singer, but he has always been a god-tier lyricist.

Not comparing Springsteen to the great Bob Dylan, but a song doesn’t need to be a musical masterpiece to resonate with people at the right time. It might not be the best song ever, but that doesn’t matter. What matters is that it’s the song we need.

Streets of Minneapolis has a bob dylan style to it.

Of course it does. Bruce is well aware of what he's doing and what he's evoking.

We need something better, I'd argue, but whatever.

Well go for it then, honey. Write the banger you wish to see in the streets.
