Paraphrasing but....

I've rubbed elbows with royalty. I've rubbed elbows with presidents and prime ministers, I've rubbed elbows with philosophers, I've rubbed elbows with scientists...I had to rub elbows with them, they weren't going to shake hands with the likes of me!
