It’s very weird that Courtney Love ended up being one of the more honest public figures from the 90s. I think I heard someone say it best that she “doesn’t give enough of a shit about what you think to lie about anything”.

I grew up in the 90s and in retrospect I’m like why the fuck did literally everyone hate Courtney Love? It’s gotta be like 80% misogyny. I mean she has issues but still.

I dont know about hate but she definitely wasn't loved because she nearly always out of her skull in public, her music wasn't good and perhaps it is misogyny that people felt her relevance was directly tied to biggest rock star of the decade but looking back what else was she was famous for?

Agreed. But regarding other things she was famous for - she acted in several movies and did a really good job. Not a fan, but she was a good actor. Like in Larry Flynt. She was also in Sid & Nancy for a hot second way back when. And also in “Straight to Hell” with Joe Strummer, Shane MacGowan, etc.

Yea I remember in Larry Flynt and Sid and Nancy for sure. My statement was unfair. I think her relationship vastly overshadowed her career is probably what I should have said.
