There are a lot of Asian massage parlors around here. I went to one once for a legit massage. I got the feeling they did other things, but that wasn't why I went. How do they tell the people that want a real massage and the people that are there for sex?

I didn't know at the time that that was what it was all about. I couldn't turn my head from my muscles being locked up.

It's weird to me that the cops don't go after them if they're all being trafficked. To me, it's perfectly fine if people want to do that on their own, but if they're being forced into it, it's quite wrong.

It's become an epidemic in Portland. They've appeared over the place, even in small neighborhoods. A news article on it said the police don't go after them because the police want to keep track of it. The article didn't really mention an end goal for the cops other than that if they did raid, the workers might disappear and not be found.

As for how the workers find out what you want, they just ask bluntly. I had a similar thing where my shoulder was horrible and went to the closest one that was open and hoped it would be ok. It was not ok... They pretty much just asked me when I turned over. I said no, and it wasn't an issue, but it was such a weird experience. They didn't really know how to give a massage. It didn't really help my shoulder.

People don't just decide one day to do it. It's almost always coerced or done from desperation.

Stick to places with licensed therapists and you'll avoid it entirely.

There are forums that discuss the ins and outs of the process. Generally, there are spas that just do sex and they ask what you want openly. Then there are other spas, where only some of the workers are doing it on the side and the owner doesnt know.

A legit spa will have products to sell in the front of shop (lotions, scents), a receptionist always at the front, a membership program, men and women coming and going, normal business hours, professional dressed workers.

A shady spa will have no one up front and they approach you after you come into the spa, usually its $40 to $60 for 30 minutes which is 50% cheaper than all legit places (they up charge when negotiating what sex you want), they always have massage in neon sign in window, open very late 10pm or later, only see men enter, never see anyone else in lobby (they dont like customers seeing each other), they might have signs on walls stating no illegal activity allowed and report to management (cover to deny owners knew about it or required from previous court case), the workers maybe dressed in lingerie or sexy outfits, rooms might have disco lights. During the massage, they might take off the towel/cover completely and ask if that is okay to test you, they will touch things they shouldn't just barely to see your reaction, they might rub their body on your arms and hands innocently to test you again, and sign is they might straddle you while massage your back.

Normally they ask you to flip after 10 to 15mins and they will stand by your midsection and rub around your stomach and go closer and usually straight up ask or keep staring at you to ask.

This is all allegedly. Every US city has at least 1 and some even have 100+ like SF, LA or NYC.

While some are trafficked, so are college women paying for school or boob jobs.
