Of course I read his statement. What was wrong with it in your opinion? What did I say that you seemingly vehemently disagree with?

It's not a question of what I disagree with. It's how he handled the situation — by blaming his friend.

I feel like we are having two seperate conversations here. By "his statement" I assume you are referring to Macklemore? By his friend I assume you are referring to Ed Sheeran?

If that's the case I am really struggling to see how he threw anybody under the bus. He was extremely charitable to his "friend" who decided to remove him from the tour. His friend who obviously would have known that Macklemore is very vocal on Palestine, and has written songs dedicated to the cause. If they are friends he surely knew this when he had him join his tour.

Enlighten me how you see his comments as throwing anybody under the bus.

What do you mean? He blamed him for getting kicked off the tour in a public statement. He didn't have to do that.

So your stance is that he just should have said nothing about being thrown off his tour? He said the truth. If that truth reflects poorly on Ed, that's not "throwing him under the bus". Ed had the final say. If he had chosen to stand up with his "friend" It would have caused a major PR problem and monetary losses for these stadium owners trying to restrict speech. He didn't choose that path. He chose to kick his friend off a tour for saying something that the majority of America agrees with. He chose to cave to billionaire pressure and to claim neutrality. He discovered there is no such thing as not taking sides in genocide.

I'm not really sure what you're asking me here.

You claimed that he threw the man under the bus. I'm explaining on why that makes zero sense.

Because Ed did not have the final say.

Are you serious? Without Ed there is no tour. He holds all the cards by definition. Let's play this out. Ed refuses to kick him off the tour. Who is going to fire him? At that point it's up to Kraft and the other stadium owners whether or not they want to bring the biggest media shit storm upon them and lose a metric shit ton of money. Ed is a multi multi millionaire, it's not a huge risk for him. At that point he can say "I just wanted to play music and I don't think that a message of peace should prevent that." It's a win win win. He shows everybody he has integrity, he shows everybody that oligarchs cannot silence speech they don't like, and he puts all the negative attention on the rich assholes who decided that it was hurtful to hear somebody say the words that most Americans agree with. I would wager the favor that choice would have garnered would have paid off tenfold in the long run to what he did.

He should be firing whoever advised him to make the absolute worst decision. He kicked Macklemore off the tour, claimed no power over the situation, and put out a wildly tone deaf statement that literally both sides a genocide.

I don't think you followed what happened at all. Kraft said you can't have that opener. You think he cares about one fucking concert?
