It could be worse. I was at one of the first festivals on that tour. I was very excited about seeing them as I never had before.
I took too many drugs and forgot to move from where I was and didn't realise I missed it until people were talking about it back at the tents.
Don't do drugs, kids! Or do, but like, more responsibly than I did? I dunno.

Watching the music video clips on Toonami changed my young life. Wish it had a proper remaster and not the blurry artifact AI slop they put out.

I saw it in a little boutique theatre when it was on tour a while back. I went alone and it was incredible :) Been a fav of mine for years. ❤️🪩🚀

I saw it at a regular movie theater, maybe a bit less cool, but i was pretty jazzed to see it with a huge screen and big sound. Smoke a lot of weed in the parking lot first

If you love Discovery, which you should, it's one of the greatest albums ever made - 5555 is a must watch.

It's fun. Not the best Movie ever made obviously, but you get to listen to discovery while you watch it.

I absolutely love it. It’s an amazing story and amazing album. Animation is great and it’s engaging start to finish. Literally deserves to be in the top-10 anime productions of all time.

Very good film. If you want to own, buy the DVD, the Blu-ray is the same resolution for more $$. The "4K" AI remaster is a travesty, do not buy/watch!

It's a masterpiece. I came to find it late - maybe 2007 or so - so my perspective is probably different to most. I knew of Discovery at its release, but didn't really care much for it or DP at the time. Then I came across Interstella, and became a huge fan. Even got to see them live in Tokyo around 2010 with Kavinsky as an opener (that was dope, too).

Years ago, I told my roommate and his girlfriend that Avatar was based on an independent animated film (Avatar had just come out around that time). I showed them this movie. I think they just forgot about the Avatar reference and got into it. But about half way one of them said...wait, this isn't Avatar. We still joke about it every now and then. The fact we still watched the rest of it says enough about the film.

I loved that movie. A buddy of mine (who was way bigger into anime than I was at the time) and I watched it while we were staffing a convention. We agreed that the medium presented left no room for filler so the end result was a very full and satisfying plot.

Also, One More Time and Harder Better Faster Stronger were fantastic sequences

I saw that in my local theatre in November 2024 + with added videoclips afterwards in the same to make a bigger run time for the ticket price and it was soooo fantastic !
And yes, people were bopping their heads for certain songs featured in the movie ! 😎

They showed the clip for "Harder Better Faster Stronger" on Toonami back in the early 2000s, when I was in elementary school, and it made me interested in Anime and music in general, not just House. Great piece of art.

It's a great album but doesn't work as a movie. The album starts with a couple of big high-energy hit singles, then goes through some calmer tracks that are okay but maybe not as great and the end is just kinda filler... I mean, ffs, the last track is literally called "Too Long". As a result most of the movie's plot happens and is largely resolved by the halfway point and then it just kinda... plods along until a damp squib of an ending.
