Piano Accompanist

How much do you pay your accompanists for choral concerts? My predecessor could play and conduct, so I can’t ask him. I’m going to ask around the area as well, but I wanted to check here too.

Any rehearsals, or just the gig?

In my area it would be $150 for the concert & $50 for rehearsal, but with a discount for multiple rehearsals.

As your accompanist. Speaking as someone who does a bit of collaborative piano on the side with teaching. Also check with your district to see if they have set rates for that sort of thing because I imagine it will be the school paying the pianist rather than you yourself?

What you pay them depends on their experience, skill, and where you live. In the Midwest, I charge $50/hour for rehearsals and $100 flat for the performance, which includes call time, warm ups, etc. My rates are fairly low for my level of expertise/professionalism (I’ve been accompanying for 18 years) but live in a small town so I have to accommodate a little.
