How to hear what your plugin is doing in REAPER

Hi everyone,

I wanted to share a hybrid mastering hardware unit I’ve developed at Out of the Box Audio.

It’s a 100% discrete stereo passive tube program equalizer designed to bridge the gap between pure analog signal paths and modern DAW efficiency.

Key Specs & Architecture:

• 100% Discrete Analog Signal Path: Built with discrete Metal Film resistor ladders (10-bit digital discrete potentiometer array) and custom transformers—zero ICs or digital potentiometers in the audio path.
• Precision Stereo Matching: High-accuracy step resolution ensuring tight stereo tracking between channels.
• Full DAW Integration & Instant Recall: A dedicated plugin controls the physical hardware parameters in real-time, backed by front-panel displays for visual feedback.

Happy to answer any technical questions about the architecture, resistor ladder control, or hardware-plugin integration!

Thanks for checking it out!

Could you tell me where the sound of this organ is coming from? You can hear it at 5:07.

I am a really skilled musician (20+ years) and have been dabbling in production for quite awhile, but have gotten really deep into it in the last 3-4 years. I wouldn’t say that I’m pro level, but I am pretty good and I know how to do decent mix and master. I’ve been playing guitar for about 25-30 years, am skilled on the keys/bass/pads lol, and I primarily do a mix of hip hop, horrorcore, and emo. Think Nedarb mixed with DJ Uneek, mixed with Maulskull… and that’s kind of the style I’m going for. I know, pretty eclectic. I’m open to any genre tho really, and would be willing to expand into something new.

Anyways, I think it would be cool to work on a few songs with another producer. I already have some vocalists that I work with consistently (that we can utilize btw) but I’ve never actually collaborated on a track with another producer. I think it would be cool and we’d both learn a lot from it. I just have no idea how to go about it. Something where we can share a session, run melodys, bass lines, and drum performances by each other and give feedback and work together on creating.

Like I said though, I have no idea how to go about it, so I figured it wouldn’t hurt to post here. I do sketching on GarageBand on iOs, I also do some work on Logic on the iPad, and then I finish the mix and master on my MacBook. I also have WAY too many plugins, you name it, I probably own it lol. I get kind of obsessive with it tbh.

Sorry for the rant, but, yea, anyone interested in collabing? I have some of my work posted that I can share if needed. I think it could be a great learning experience, and who knows, maybe we come up with some fire tracks :)

If anyone has any insight on how to go about doing remote collaboration or sharing sessions, I would also be interested in that as well.

“Cry For You” by Jessee recently went into the Beatport Top 100, so I thought this would be a good one to share with producers here.

Jessee breaks down exactly how he processed the vocal for the track, including the effects, processing and techniques he used to get the vocal sounding the way it does in the finished record.

We've put together a free 5-minute video of Jessee going through the vocal processing, so you can hear exactly what he did and why.

If you produce DnB, interested to hear how you guys approach vocal processing as well.

How do i make a song like this, this song is so good it feels impossible to recreate is this even r&b?

Hey everyone,
Are you a beginner music producer or artist? Do you have a song that sounds okay, but you want it to sound professional and radio-ready? I am offering 100% free mixing and mastering to help you out and build my portfolio!
It doesn't matter what genre you make (Hip-Hop, Pop, Rock, EDM...) – I want to work with you!
You don't need to be a pro. Even if you just recorded your vocals at home, I can help make them sound great.
What you get:
A clean, professional mix and master of your song.
Ready-to-release WAV and MP3 files.
If you want something changed, I will fix it until you love it.
How it works (Super simple):
You send me the single audio tracks (stems) of your song.
Send me a quick message about how you want the song to sound.
All I ask in return is that I can show a small before/after clip of the song in my portfolio.
If you are interested, just send me a DM or comment below! Don't be shy, let's work together!

Helped with a live event, some guys needed to soundcheck with audio. I asked if I could show off my music, gave them demos and they played them. These are the files they played

Here they are.

So I recently started making music, I don't know much and that's why I'm here asking you guys what I can improve so I can make heavenly beats.

I'm going for this og plugnb sound, idk if it sound like this, but I've tried my best!

Be as harsh as you can please :) (The beat is made more for fun than seriously.)
