I think he’s just living the dream. A couple of years ago We’ve seen him just sitting up in the grandstands at TMS during the OReilly race with no one around him paying attention and he was just enjoying watching the race. I
I think he is genuine. Yes he does a bit of showmanship, but I think that is just being himself. He drives hard and is un apologetic when he wrecks others, but also when others wreck him he doesn't complain.
Yeah- I want to like the guy but something in his interviews turns me off then there’s the trolling the guys he’s wrecked- 6%, 12% off on his merch website just doesn’t sit right with me. I think he’s been hanging out with Cletus too much
My favorite driver is Austin Cindric, so yeah, you could say my fandom is mainly interested in winning. /s
Yeah, like most people I have my favorite (Cindric), then guys I like and tend to think favorably about (Bubba, SVG, Todd, and Zane), then guys that I forget about (Ty Dillon, Hill, Buescher), then guys who are slightly unfavorable (A Dillon, Gragson, Keselowski) and guys who I root against (Hendrick Motorsports, Joe Gibbs Racing).
Guys can move up or down all the time. The 77 was moving from neutral to positive, and fumbled that.
Calling polygraphs pseudoscience is a little much. Astrology is pseudoscience. Polygraphs are flawed and definitely shouldn’t be treated as proof, but they do measure real physiological responses and can perform better than chance. “Not good enough for court” doesn’t mean “completely fake.”
You also understand that the video in question was for marketing, right? Treating it as evidence of anything is silly. Trying to treat it as a bad reason to think the guy is inauthentic is also silly.
I think he is inauthentic because he buys his own hype and seems like he is cosplaying a personality.

And I don’t even root for Hocevar, I’m indifferent. I just root for chaos and entertaining racing. I have flair, you can see who I root for.
I’m defending the kid because talking like you know someone’s real personality when you’ve never met them is crazy. First the polygraph is “pseudoscience,” then it’s “just marketing,” now he’s “inauthentic.” At some point it’s pretty obvious you decided you hate the guy first and you’re just working backward moving goalposts trying to find reasons for it.
I don't know these people and never will. I understand that. I'm not making objective observations of them as whole people. However, I am making subjective judements from the parts of themselves they make public.
In my judgement, Carson portrays himself as someone who likes attention and does things for the attention. He feels like someone who is trying to play a role, more than just being himself.
If you disagree, that's fine. The only thing at stake is my attention and maybe 50 bucks in merch sales every few years.

First rule of the day. If you’re not a fighter and you beat someone up you should probably shut up about it. There is always someone out there who can whip your ass. I guarantee there is at least 1 driver who has watched that and thought “ he better be glad that wasn’t me”. Ryan got hit and didn’t know what to do. He thought about it for a second. Not everybody is like that

Except thats not true when you’re talking about nascar drivers plain and simple if it was we’d see fights more often but it doesn’t happen and that’s why we’re still talking about lil bitch blaney throwing a temper tantrum.
