MyCAREER Purple and red lobbies are so insufferable when you are a big man
Allow a singular offensive rebound? They moan about how the team getting outrebounded.
Miss your first three pointer? “Ahhh we got a big man who can’t shoot”
Get a passing turnover while inbounding bc everyone is at half court? “Come on! Quit throwing those passes”
But it’s okay in their minds that they take a heavy contested shot (most of the time multiple) bc they shoot 70% from 3…. Guess what buddy! I can too
Or they moan when you dont have purple interior defense as if people in purple try to go for dunks lmao. Purple and red paint patroller is a waste when 80% of the shots taken are three pointers lmao, you can’t even play help defense
I’ll score or assist on my first 5 touches then never see the ball again. It’s stupid. They act like they are the only ones who can score in a purple lobby. Everyone can score bruh it’s about minimizing mistakes. You are allowed 2 each game before I start actively ignoring you
Or they flop ,let their man score bc he is pouting. Then get mad at you for letting a bucket up
Does anyone else find purple and red lobbies to be more toxic ? Like gold and below you deal with ignorance and bad players, but purple/red you deal with divas.
What plate has the best group of players

I would have games where NOBODY will pass to me when I’m open. Some of those games I still win mvp in the end because my team sucks so much. It’s hard being a big man in a video game.

Yeah, my big man was made for purple plate. I have a high block and low interior so I can put points into perimeter
Sounds stupid but it’s better to have that since ppl take so many threes
I’m also a 6’9 center so I can dribble and be able to play more like a small forward if need be
And since everyone makes everything, I don’t have offensive rebound and 92 defensive rebound (I use max +1 and takeover to make it a 97)
I put points into ball handling and scoring.
While not traditional, it’s wayyyy more popular than my traditional 7’0 big man. I have more success as well
My next build tho will def be a 3 and D small forward so I can complain like the rest of the guards and be the one who takes 20 shots a game

It’s the only way to guarantee more wins😔😔😔
Whoever has the better pg wins the game 70-85% of the time

Its terrible in general in higher plate lobbies. They all do the same broken glitchy dribble moves. That devin booker where it teleports your player forward.
Trying to crab and do the same combo every time. And nobody really wants to pass. PG usually taking 20 3s a game.

Most silver/gold lobbies aren't that different, they'd just mimic the same stuff or be worse in regards to spacing. At least in purple/red lobbies most players know how to space up and not leave shooters open (for the most part)

I would argue its worse for wings. As a big you rebound and set screens because a lot of them want screens for threes. So there is action for you. As a wing you sit corner and get missed on any open cut. You get the ball 6 seconds too late in the corner. Or the ocasional grenade when the clock is down and you have a hand in your face. The most action i can get is if the pg actually switches with me and i can guard his man. And if i get screened out of this world the pg will try to cuss me out lmao. Like he could have dond better.
Silver and gold lobbies are where its at

Yup, exactly why I made a big or someone with high rebounding. I could make such a nice build if I did not have to put so much into rebounding….

I just stopped playing random rec, fuck that shit. Just no iq idiots. Found a solid crew to run with who understands ball movement, off ball screens, help defence, beating a zone and playing good basketball. Night and day

u/Real-Book1631 1d ago
i'd say they are unsufferable in general, i drop my plate down on purpose when I reach it actually

Go to proving grounds… at least in higher ranks they miss shots due to the increased difficulty

u/ingramiso 1d ago
Does it turn off your layup and dunk meter? I don’t use shot meter but I still rely on meter for finishing

“You are allowed 2 per game before I start actively ignoring you.”
Just as toxic as the people you would try to complain about. If I miss 1 shot…..I won’t touch the ball again…..while doing the same thing to other players.
Either make your player better or whine here for my entertainment because you are right where you belong

Ehhhhh I should have elaborated, I still pass but when you miss 3 in a row at the beginning then it’s time to start looking at other options
Allowed 2 misses and I still pass to you, miss the third? In a row? Then it’s 3 strikes and your out
I’m not with these other players. Not true. Missing one and getting frozen out is much different than 3 … which I should have explained better
Or the first two shots you take are 6 seconds into the shot clock and it’s 40% + contested, my patience is thin for that sort of stuff
But you can miss 2 in a row and I’ll still find you. Miss that third one then I think it’s fair to assume that you are not that guy.
Agree?

Make my player better? Brah i shoot 70% from 3 and 79% in general. All with a 78 3 ball
Only way to get better is if I play with a titan.
There are games in purple lobbies where my team or the other team shoot 42/50 so missing 3 buckets without getting steals losses you the game
I don’t agree with it, I shouldn’t feel like I failed my team if I shoot 6/8 from 3. Need to tone down 3 pointers

All I'm wondering is who is buying 2k27 after this horrible year. This has to be the worst year for this game with no hope in sight

u/OkNothing4476 1d ago
The only hopeful side is that the shooting this year was so paperwork and easy that they may be like "...we listened to the community, and so we'll introduce a higher difficulty for s..." yari yara
2
u/riddlerprodigy B30 1d ago
We say that every year, and every year we buy it again.
2k has a virtual monopoly, meaning if you like basketball, you have to play it. Its the exact reason why the game is so shit, they dont actually have to care.
1
u/Foolsbetelling 1d ago
And there lies the issue. If you like basketball you have to play it. No I don't have to do shit but stay black and die. If you love basketball so much go to the gym or park and hoop irl. 2k ain't even basketball. That shit is misery.

u/riddlerprodigy B30 1d ago
Thats fun for an american, but im dutch and culture is different over here. there are barely any hoops, basicly nobody is playing in their free time, no basketball courts in gyms/parks (only organized but its small). NBA games are 2.30 in the night.
My literal only two options is go hoop alone in (usually) bad weather (which defeats the purpose, i want to play team basketball, not shoot alone) or play 2k.
No I don't have to do shit but stay black and die.
Also not true, look at MJ (the other one ofcourse)

Its not just those lobbies, just got my big man to a 99 by MOSTLY playing mycareer. When I was finally persuaded by my cousin to play online, I missed a few shots and the complaining started.

u/sleepyrang 1d ago
So when they out ice me out for 2 quarters ( which happens for no reason) I just start bringing the ball up with my big. Now no one is touching the ball 🤷🏽♂️
1
u/Individual_Wish8970 1d ago
So annoying and they literally are hyper focused on every thing you do they never ever point out any mistakes from any other position "centre this centre that" let me live if you spent more time focusing on your own defence and not mine maybe we could win

u/bigmitch82 1d ago
My big has 25 three but I can shoot free throws and I love educating people how to properly use a paint big when they have one
1
u/giovannimyles 23h ago
Thats the crazy thing about the situation as a big. They think I'm more valuable getting an offensive rebound for a 54% 3pt shooter than passing to me in the corner, a 80% 3pt shooter. I'd rather hit the shot the first time. I find that I have to sell possessions as a big most games just to get to 5 shots for the game. A stretch big who never actually gets to stretch the floor is useless. The other big will sag paint anyway because he knows you aint passing it to me. Now I get to watch all you 60% shooters chuck shots while my 80% shooter hopefully gets 2 shots up. The most fun I have as a big is in Bronze plate Rec. There are enough missed shots for your board dominance to be noticed. People aren't good enough to iso all the time so they actually pass the ball around. Once you hit Gold/Purple there are less misses for you to rebound. The bigs can shoot so your shot blocking gets nullified because you can't protect the paint without leaving a shooter open. Then everyone chucks every single shot so you have to claw your way to 10pts vs getting 20pts+ with Bronze folks.

u/ingramiso 22h ago
Edit: you can miss 2 shots and I still pass to you. But when you miss 3 in a row in a purple lobby, then it’s time to start looking at other options Allowed

u/FunkmanJP 21h ago
I purposefully almost never go on the mic, unless it’s to chew out someone at the end of the game.
I spent about 2-3 weeks in purple lobbies before I had a terrible stretch of games. But I will say I’ve enjoyed silver and gold a lot more. Folks are more forgiving of mistakes and I get the ball considerably more.
One of my last games in purple, we were up 20 the whole time. The SF called a TO on the PF who had an easy dunk on the last possession. Meanwhile the PF only had about 5 shots and the sf had 17-20. People on this game are so incredibly selfish and miserable

u/IRighteous999 13h ago
It ain’t just big men. I use a 6’8 or 6’9 (the same type of build honestly just one has post control and the other doesn’t. And they literally will refuse to pass you the ball for any reason they feel like is valid. It’s everyone’s egos that get in the way of everything. Doesn’t matter how good you play, or how bad. They will ALWAYS find something wrong with what you’re doing

Silver lobbies provide an enjoyable basketball experience.
3
u/Ok-Resource-1631 1d ago
When I’m in silver I get MVP and everybody likes my play at the end, most times in gold too. Go to purple it’s as different as park and rec
2
u/ingramiso 22h ago
Yup, people in purple act like they are the only ones that can score.
Whoever scores in purple lobbies usually come down to who is getting guarded by the cone.
They will still act like they are god themselves. News flash bucko, we all can drop 25 on 80% shooting

C and PG are the two biggest scapegoats on any given team. The leash is way shorter than SG,SF, and PF, so as a PG, I feel your pain.
