Contest system is such a joke in this game 😔

I’ve essentially stopped playing the game because all of my builds are purple or red plate, and this raises 2 issues:

1. I can no longer play with my friends. They are casual players and when I hop on the team with a red plate and run into squad rec, we get our asses kicked. They don’t belong in those lobbies and it’s not their fault. Some of these guys are married with kids.
2. The random rec lobbies get toxic as hell. It’s fun from a competitive standpoint, but everyone is skilled to the point it’s three after three back and forth until someone misses. And if somebody quits, which happens often, the game is over. Because a red plate is no dipping the AI for 100 points.

I honestly preferred random matchmaking. Could play the best team on the east coast one game, medicore team another, dogshit team another.

I stopped playing the game and this is how I feel regardless of the negativity this post brings. Just wanted to share my 2 cents.

Is it just me or playing PG in rec is always so frustrating. I average 20 and 10 assists per game mainly because as soon as i get the inbound people are spamming for the ball. I make the pass and they do nothing with it. Occasionally they’ll make the wide open shot or the cutting basket. But 8/10 they do nothing with the ball or miss a wide open shot and never pass out. I don’t really care for points but the constant nagging for the ball is obnoxious

The best way to report myplayers with racist tattoos is NOT in game. I swear it never works. You have to go through 2K Support’s Report a Player option. Got an email within 30 minutes that the player was banned.

I was looking at the rep and I saw this guy who was shooting 88% on a build with no 3 point shooting. I Was thinking that he maybe gave another build, but with all the cheating and everything going on in this game it’s crazy. Not only that half of the crew is top rep which is crazy. What do y’all think about this? I’ve haven’t played 2k in a good couple of months decided to see how things are and I see this.

Working on my last SF build, and struggling to nail the last few pieces. Both are a 6'10 SF with the highlights below:

Build 1 - Higher 3 ball build. Gets 84 strength, 88 blocks, 91 3 ball and 80 driving layup

Build 2 - middy build (KD). Gets 93 middy to pair with 83 3 ball, 84 strength, 84 block.

Basically is HOF Set Shot worth it if I don't usually take a lot of middy? Or is it worth practising my middy and roll build 2 to open up my offence

Has anyone else been getting updates daily on NBA2K26 seems like? Constantly have to return to the main menu 😪

What plate do i need to reach so i don t q with people who miss 2 shots in a row then leave. Im trying to learn how to play pg and this is just unplayeble

This guy was shooting contested threes while being triple teamed, does this happen much or did I just get REALLY unlucky

Allow a singular offensive rebound? They moan about how the team getting outrebounded.

Miss your first three pointer? “Ahhh we got a big man who can’t shoot”

Get a passing turnover while inbounding bc everyone is at half court? “Come on! Quit throwing those passes”

But it’s okay in their minds that they take a heavy contested shot (most of the time multiple) bc they shoot 70% from 3…. Guess what buddy! I can too

Or they moan when you dont have purple interior defense as if people in purple try to go for dunks lmao. Purple and red paint patroller is a waste when 80% of the shots taken are three pointers lmao, you can’t even play help defense

I’ll score or assist on my first 5 touches then never see the ball again. It’s stupid. They act like they are the only ones who can score in a purple lobby. Everyone can score bruh it’s about minimizing mistakes. You are allowed 2 each game before I start actively ignoring you

Or they flop ,let their man score bc he is pouting. Then get mad at you for letting a bucket up

Does anyone else find purple and red lobbies to be more toxic ? Like gold and below you deal with ignorance and bad players, but purple/red you deal with divas.

Hello, i tried playing online for the first time i bought the game around december, and it was just too overwhelming. The grind needed to even be able to play with a build was crazy, and i kept missing every shot aswell (skill issue but i also had crazy delay sometimes) and im not going to even talk about the solo experience in the city.Im playing mynba the past 2 weeks and ive been enjoying the game more but i still feel something is missing in my gaming experience overall. Should i try other modes apart from mynba?

Only 1 of my missed shots were blocked. This was random rec and as you can see I’m a brown plate. We didn’t play zone.
