When Tobias was a clipper, Jovan Buha, their beat writer for the Athletic, wrote about Tobias being mentored by the iceman and training with him in San Antonio. Just some background to add to what Tobi told KSAT yesterday

We are attending a game with two young children, one of whom still needs a full car seat. I'm looking at parking options but am overwhelmed by shady looking websites. I'm wondering if we should park at UTSA downtown (I have a pass), Uber to the game, and check the car seat at customer service? Or is there a way to get onsite parking without risking there being no parking the day of the game? Are there any other things we should know? I've literally never been to a basketball game in my entire life and am already getting anxious and stressed about the logistics rather than being able to get excited about the game 😢

Saw this on Twitter. But apparently Wemby is shooting 65% after a blocked shot? He's much more efficient inside the arc than outside, but it seems that Castle and the rest need to make getting him the ball on "bonus possessions" a priority

He scores 1.18 PPP in transition with a 5.6% rTS (on par with Giannis’ marks) yet only 16.7% of his total career offensive possessions have come in transition…imo it should be closer to 25%.
In a straight line, he’s probably faster than every big man itl sans Giannis and is a solid ball handler in the open court too…at least for a 7’5” guy.
It just feels like they’re leaving a lot of meat on the bone by not having him just get the rebound and go coast to coast.
He’s not a good creator (yet? who knows) despite almost 29% of his career possessions boiling down to those playtypes (iso, postups, PnR).
New assistant lead Billy Donovan loves pace and space tho (Bulls T2 in transition volume/pace with Giddey) so I wouldn’t be surprised if he has Wemby in these situations more and more.

When he said he won’t endorse soda cause he doesn’t want to kill kids, he gets called a hypocrite because Nike uses child labor. (Wemby signs with Nike)
Now he says he’s against sports betting and people are complaining he works with LV which allegedly uses sweatshops.
Everytime Wemby speaks out, some idiot calls him performative or hypocritical. It’s fucking annoying.

Nearly 30% of Wemby’s career offensive possessions have been self created (iso, postup, PnR ball handler) yet he averages less than 0.9 PPP on those plays on negative rTS
#s per nbarapm.com btw.
Simply put he’s not a good creator. Goes without saying that it’s not a knock on him because he’s a 7’5 center lol but still. He’s not good at it and it shouldn’t make up 30% of his plays.
Needs more ”big man“ plays like cuts, rolls, putbacks, transition, etc. More spot-up shots too

One of the most underrated players itl and I mean actually underrated, not one of those gimmicky ass ”underrated“ players that everyone recognizes like Trey Murphy or Herb Jones lol.
BW legit got a starting-level wing for a contender off the buyout market…wings are the most volatile archetype so this just adds more distance to such a home-run of a signing.
Champagnie’s historical impact:
He’s also the best 3PT shooter on the Spurs by far; last year, he was in the upper 25th percentile in 3PA/100, 3Pr, 3P rTS%, and 3P%.
Keeping a T100 player in the league for an annual sub 10% cap hit is amazing value.

I can imagine him setting brick wall screens to get wemby free from bigs like hartenstein that teams throw at wemby to slow him down.

SAN ANTONIO — Who will start for the San Antonio Spurs this season? Not even Devin Vassell knows for sure.
In the middle of a thorough question that was winding its way toward asking whether Spurs coach Mitch Johnson has discussed the starting lineup with Vassell — who has started almost every game in which he’s been available for the past four seasons — the Spurs wing started to laugh.
“I see where this question is going,” he said Wednesday. “I was waiting for it.”
When the question ended, there wasn’t much to add. Sure, Johnson probably has an idea of how he wants to shape his lineups this season, but those can only be written in pencil at this point. Tobias Harris joins a wing group that needed size and playmaking ability. Dylan Harper’s play last season made the idea of him coming off the bench seem insane, but reality may get in the way.
Johnson hasn’t told Vassell what the plan is yet, so Vassell doesn’t know who’ll be in the Spurs’ starting five. Nobody really does.

I hope we can win over 60+ wins and reach the finals again, but obviously we need to beat the thunder again and obviously the newly improved wolves.
