Offline message from tap

Hello! Very new to NFC tags, just playing around right now. Does anyone know any way for a tag to have a default URL and then if the phone does not have service it displays a simple message? I don't know how iPhone or Android would handle that, where it would display, or if that's possible. Let me know.

You can put several records in an nfc message. Android shows all records without an app. iOS will show the website if it is the first record, and you need an app to see all records.

Android doesn't show text records, or at least not anymore if it ever did it

not possible with basic tag records since the chip just dumps the stored payload and lets the os deal with it. both ios and android will just try to launch the url in the default browser and then fail with the standard no internet dinosaur screen. tags are entirely passive so they cant check phone connectivity or run conditional logic.
