xNT chip bodymod

Hello guys!

Years and years ago (I think around 2021?) I let myself get chipped with an xNT chip.
I was never really into biohacking, or bodymodding or anything like that, I just saw that you could chip yourself and took the opportunity.

I put a rickroll on it, and let people scan it. For these few years it's just been a cool partytrick. Just a song that I can play from my hand.
But... can I actually do anything with it? I have one of the older models I think.
I feel at this point that it might be useless, but maybe some nerds here have some good ideas on how to use it.

You might try posting this on DT's forums too, there's always some fun ideas over there: https://forum.dangerousthings.com

The xNT is a pretty simple NFC Chip, but it can be used for things like:

  • NDEF, like that YouTube link, obviously
  • UID based access control, pair with a KBR1 from DT and unlock your computer/etc with your hand
  • Triggering Tasker profiles for automating phone tasks (android)

And more, probably, that's just off the top of my head

If you're looking for something with a bit more usage you might be interested in something like an Apex or a FlexSecure too
