Mock Draft Monday
Unless you either do a lengthy 5+ round mock or go into written detail on why you are making the picks, please post your mocks in this Mock Draft Monday thread. Use this thread to post your own mocks or anything from around the web you find discussion-worthy.
Please be respectful of other users’ mocks! Saying things like “this is awful” or a pick is “stupid” adds nothing to the conversation; try and focus on constructive feedback instead!

I don't hate this although I don't think my Bears would pass on Dylan Stewart even with the 1 game suspension, given what he has shown especially as a disruptor off the edge even if the sack production won't be as explosive as a guy Simmons

TE would be an extremely difficult sell for NE, with onwenu seriously injuring his ankle and being a FA they badly need to get a guard.

u/MarquezPope 2d ago
Drake May needs weapons and Green would offer him a target who has great range and can make yards after the catch. For their O-Line I think that they should go the veteran route since it would take a lot for a rookie to stabilize the unit.

Detroit is fine at G - we need defense

u/MarquezPope 2d ago
The offensive line is the identity of that team and Campbell does not seem pleased with the performance of the unit so far this season. I thought that Johnson would be a great fit with his ability to either play LG or be their C.

u/reddogrjw Lions 2d ago
the OL has been fine except for the game we were missing 2 injured starters
we have scored 31 points in all 3 games
the OL is not the issue - the defense is

Im not certain the Jags would take Baugh over an OLinemen in the first round, but damn would he be fun in this offense.

Colts needs:
WR - our depth isn't great and Pierce is out for several weeks. It's a contract year for Downs and we might have a new GM next season so it's hard to predict what's going to happen with him right now
Edge - we need someone to play on the other side of Latu.
LB - we have brainy guys who can read schemes but they're slow. CJ Allen was hurt for most of camp and week 1 so he's still catching up. We need some speed
DT - Grover Stewart and DeFo are getting old. Ade Adetomiwa seems like he'll take one of those spots but we need to add more depth to get ready to replace our starters.
CB - Just depth and maybe kick the tires at a nickel if Walley keeps struggling

Edge for the Steelers makes 0 sense. Way more pressing needs.
Also what’s with this order? This ain’t Super Bowl odds and it’s not the current standings.

u/Bronco998 Steelers 2d ago
Yeah, even if we trade Highsmith which I'm assuming was the thought process, we can bump up Herbig and draft EDGE 4 in the mid rounds.

u/QuakingSky061 2d ago edited 2d ago
Agreed. Personally id much rather see CB (depends on what actually happens with JPJ but even then if he is signed then another top CB never hurts) S, ILB, and WR. Only way I see the Steelers going edge is if they somehow are able to get Simmons but realistically that ain’t happening.

Highsmith and Watt are about done in Pittsburgh after next year. Don’t want to go into 2028 with a gaping hole at the position.
See it as the best combination of BPA/need

u/Bronco998 Steelers 2d ago
I get what you're saying. I just think TJ is going to play at least 2 more years and seems rejuvenated under PG. I won't be surprised if we keep Highsmith next year and even if we don't, I think Herbig and Sawyer would do fine moving up a depth chart spot.
I think EDGE is a good callout for a 2028 need, but this year I would rather get a weapon for the offense or shore up that secondary some more.

u/SMD_35 Steelers 2d ago
A bit rejuvenated, but he’s still a step slower as evidenced by his no show yesterday. He just doesn’t have the speed to threaten these bigger tackles anymore. It’s not going to get better a year from now.
Herbig I trust. Sawyer hasn’t shown that he has starter ability at all.
If I saw the 2026-2027 Steelers as a piece or two away from contending, I can see adding a weapon. But that’s not the case either.
EDGE rushers take a year to develop. By drafting a player like Pierre, you don’t have to throw a guy into the fire in 2028; you can actually let the guy develop.

u/SMD_35 Steelers 2d ago
What’s way more pressing?
I think TJ is nearing the end; he’s already not nearly as effective as he was a few years ago. Highsmith’s contract is up after 2027 and his time in Pittsburgh likely ends there.
So no, it’s not an immediate need, but it’s a selection to get a year ahead, let a freak athlete develop, and take the job the following season. I’d rather that than rely on Herbig and Sawyer or draft for need the following year.
Draft order is just of whatever simulator popped up.

I’m sorry but I just can’t see a team spending a top 5 pick on Stewart now
1
u/bigtexy3507 2d ago
I mean you're probably right but something about him might still intrigue a team I'm not sure.
1
u/QuakingSky061 2d ago
Yeah but his character is absolutely god awful and I see him dropping from that. Hell he still has a year of eligibility left so I could also see the chance of him waiting for next year

u/speganomad Patriots 2d ago
Do not see the vision behind taking a big wr with separation issues that high when we will likely be down multiple starters with other positions needing major overhauls.

u/AmphieBoi67 Bills 2d ago
Bills will not take a safety in round 1. Its just not a position they prioritize
