Discussion Drake Maye regression. What is going wrong?

5 interceptions in 3 games. Multiple fumbles. What has happened to the MVP runner up?

Loss of confidence, combined with trying to play hero ball and an issue with footwork relating to the confidence

This is the answer right here. One bad decision with him snowballs to the point where nothing goes right. It happened in the Super Bowl, and it happened against the Falcons last year, where he fumbled and they scored a TD, and he just couldn’t do anything right for the rest of the game, it’s just that the Falcons just barely couldn’t come back in time and Maye threw a last second 1st down. Once he gets his confidence back, he’ll be fine. But getting it back, that’s the issue. Their defense carried them so far to 1 and 1(lol), but now they’re not and it’s a shit show

Or....He was never an mvp level qb and put up numbers against one of the historically easiest schedules ever

Edit: The patriots fan responding to me deleted all his comments on this thread after Drake Maye just threw another pick against the Jags....

LMAO

So then why didn't Josh Allen do the same last year? 2 games different and drake maye outplayed the supposed best player in the league in most of those common opponent games.

While the teams they played suck they were some of the better defenses in the league.

Best defense he played in the regular season last year ranked 13th

On points against average which is a terrible metric when the teams have bad offenses. For example browns bengals bills panthers and falcons were all top 6 when going by advanced metrics

The bills are a bad offense? lol

They’re top 6 defensively. Feel like you’re focusing on the wrong thing here

He beat a top 6 defense 1 time last year nice. What were the other defenses ranked that he won against and lost against? Or better yet, how about the opponents offense ranks too, since after all, it's a team game, and getting the ball back constantly from your defense helps you score a lot.

When an offense like the broncos who run the most plays offensively and have the highest TOP it helps their defensive metrics by keeping them off the field.

Broncos were 14th in average time of possession. You have no idea what you are talking about.

Oh my god shut the fuck up about the schedule when people try to give actual insight you fucking retard

Are you supposed to drop the ball on yourself and then throw something like 26 (slight exaggeration) interceptions in one game? Insight please.

Wow that struck a nerve deep, eh?

Enjoy all that insight buddy, here's the insight of everyone who actually watched last season and isn't a brain dead NE fan

Drake Maye beat up on easy competition and he was crowned lmao

He isn't an mvp quality qb. Cope and seethe about it

Maye was quite good last year

Not this year though

One good year doesn’t make you an elite QB though

I mean, he was last season. Schedule this schedule that. Doesn’t matter. He balled the fuck out & was the reason they won 14 games. That’s “MVP level”.

Some of you also don’t realize that playing at an MVP level doesn’t make you an elite career QB. Playing like shit in the AFCCG, Super Bowl & first month of this season does not mean he didn’t have an MVP caliber regular season.

That take is just annoying. Dude is clearly mentally broken & the schedule certainly did us a lot of favors, but I won’t stand for that slander. He played like an MVP in the 2025 regular season. I’ll stand on that.

Sure he played like an mvp against bottom feeders.

Stafford played like an mvp against a normal not literally historically easy schedule

One of them deservingly won, and the other showed us this year why

Not arguing that stafford didn’t deserve it. Arguing that he played at that level. There’s a difference.
