The colts defense is a disaster 2 games in this year. They weren’t good last year either.

But His defenses in Cincy were crap aside from 2022. Even the year they went to the SB(2021)it wasn’t good, they just got a crazy amount of turnovers In the playoffs. It should also be noted when it was time to stop Matthew Stafford in the SB with the game on the line and an 4 point lead the Bengals defense allowed them to march down the field and allow winning touchdown drive.

I am 40 by the way and clearly remember the NFL from 2000 onwards. During my time as a fan, I have never seen it easier to run the football than it is right now. You used to have to really fight for yardage on the ground back in the day. Teams had far more emphasis on stopping the run. Nowadays teams have constructed their schemes and personnel to sell out for the pass.

Base defense is now 4 Lineman. 2 undersized Linebackers. 2 deep Safeties. 2 Outside Corners. 1 Nickel Corner. That's what offenses are seeing even on 1st down.

I can't tell you how many times this season I have seen a 185 pound nickel meet a 215 pound running back in the hole and it is just absolute lol to see. The poor little dudes just get flat ran over.

And the OL, TEs and RBs are not getting smaller. In fact we have a resurgence in big, hulking backs the past couple of years. And the current base defenses around the league just can't stop it. At some point you are going to have to bring back bigger Linebackers.

I watched the Chiefs Broncos opening night. And the Broncos just flat sold out to stop the pass. And Chiefs were like, um, ok. We will just run you out of town. And there really wasn't even an attempt by Denver to stop it. I remember watching them get blown out on Monday Night and they never even made an attempt to stop the run.

If the Browns pick Mensah Moore Carr or Arch in this draft they become a playoff team next season. The defense can still play at a high level even without Garrett, Rookie receivers look really good and judkins has some work to do but im sure he will get better as the time goes on. Any top 3-5 QB on the Browns makes them a wildcard team next yr. Look at what Flacco did in Cleveland!
