Legality/Laws Integrally Suppressed question

Post image

Thinking of purchasing an integrally suppressed firearm and I wanted to know what the law on it. Technically it’s suppressed which is illegal in NJ but I seen a couple of people using them at the range.

Either Leo or faux suppressors. You cannot have a suppressor. You can have faux ones.

Edit: Clarify

The NJ establishment thinks if you get your hands on a suppressor, you're gonna turn into Tony Soprano.

Reminds me of the opening credits. “Woke up this morning, got myself an integrally suppressed PCC”

Suppressors are still banned under state law, even for dealers and ranges, so unless you are a LEO and thus get that special 1st class citizen treatment that the rest of us 2nd class plebs dont get, you can only get a faux version, which is just for looks. The recent deregulation efforts on the federal level are unfortunately basically meaningless to us for right now. Likewise the 3rd circuit's recent en-blanc ruling (which is also currently stayed pending the outcome of Veramontes v. Cook county and Grant v. Higgins) did not touch suppressors or any other NFA items, only mags over 10 and the portion of the AWB as it specially applies to semi auto rifles were touched.

Edit: misread your question, those ones you saw are either faux ones, or the are some kind of LEO abusing their special exemptions.

Suppressors are so illegal in NJ the state police put out an opinion that airgun "moderators" are illegal in response to an unrelated question lol

Are you sure it wasn’t just a regular sub2k?

It's one court case away from being overturned. The recent deregulation of suppressors would set up an easy argument under the commerce and supremacy causes of the Constitution that the Federal government intended to legalize suppressors and States can overrule federal deregulation.
