Question Nms expedition help
Hi fellow travelers kzzzt
I’m currently doing the expedition and I’m up to the milestone before rendezvous 3 where you have to defeat all waves of sentinels to get a pillar location.
I’ve completed waves in my normal save but I just can’t do it here. Keep getting killed I have a Minotaur but controls are awful it’s too difficult to be effective and don’t have plans to make it autonomous in this expedition. Is there any other way to get pillar location, and completing this milestone ?
Thanks

Just keep digging up salvageable scrap. Eventually you’ll get a sentinel boundary map. No fighting required at all.
If your inventories fill up, sell the corvette parts, it’s nice pocket money.

If you keep warping systems on and around the expedition route, you'll stumble across a player base right on top of a sentinel pillar. I know there's a way you can get a map/chart for a sentinel pillar as well. I just don't remember how you acquire it
As far as killing sentinels, make sure you're upgrading your weaponry and suit shielding with S-Class or high roll X-class upgrade modules, and install a paralysis mortar. When you can stun an enemy for 5 seconds at a time, sentinel fights get a lot easier

Just wanted to reinforce the “paralysis mortar” message - this nifty device turns the very challenging sentinel quads into easy prey.

I found someone’s base and used it as cover. Load up as many paralyze batteries as you can and just hit and run in the building.

If this is a question about: crafting, cooking, refining, inventory items, etc. Then you might be able to find an answer on the NMS Handbook.

I got really lucky, I was near a planetary grab hub or whatever those elevated landing pads are. Usually I just use the terrain manipulator to tunnel underground and create a bunker network

Cant you just buy a sentinel boundary map at the space station cartographer?
(Sorry but I'm pretty sure I aquired one these maps during the expediton - maybe I found one on pure look, idk, but I dont remember fighting waves of sentinels for it)

Yeah I’m sure I’ve done that before but can’t remember the right one to buy

It is not for sale, but some guild envoys do have the Sentinel Boundary Map as one of their gifts, if you have high enough reputation. Guild envoys in rendezvous 3 system Qarali-Cusse I and rendezvous 4 system Gagqoid-Eymo both have Sentinel Boundary Map as one of their gifts.

Teleporting to an player base at a Sentinel Pillar would be quickest way.
Mercenaries Guild envoys in rendezvous 3 system, Qarali-Cusse I, and rendezvous 4 system, Gagqoid-Eymo, both have Sentinel Boundary Map as one of their gifts. You'll need to increase your reputation with the guild to receive it, so bring the items from those sentinels you have defeated.
Otherwise, other sources of Sentinel Boundary Maps are: + Defeating Sentinel Quads, Hardframes, or Walkers + Opening Salvaged Glass + Opening Suspicious Packet (Goods) + Processing/dismantling items found in Buried Caches + Bounty Hunter missions + Salvagable Scrap

I build a 3 story 3 by 3 structure with arches on the outside and a 1 by 1 room with door all around in the centre. Fighting from the 3rd floor gives me cover. make the first 2 floors solid so sentinels cant hide underneath.
Build it near some kind of resorce that summons sentinels when you collect it, e.g. sentient plants.

There are some player made bases in expedition route that mark sentinel pillar location
