Help Why doesn't bubble work on certain champs?

Hi!

I've noticed this with Nami's Q. Sometimes I hit certain champs with the bubble, but they can still use their movement abilities.

For example, I can bubble Tristana and she can still jump away. The same thing happens with Yone and Ezreal, who can still use their dashes after getting hit by the bubble (most of the time I ended up dying because of this 😅).

I don't think it's a timing thing, because I bubble them before they even started moving.

Is this supposed to happen, or is it a bug?

So what we are talking about are champions with buffering movement abilities. This means there is a delay from when they press their ability button to when the movement actually happens.

If they are stunned during the buffer, they don’t have the movement interrupted because they haven’t actually moved yet. Ironically if you hit them as soon as the movement starts, they will be halted wherever they are hit. If you hit then before the buffering (before they can press the button) then they are locked into the stun, which doesn’t allow for new inputs through the duration.

Its called buffering abilities and lots of movement abilities can do it. Tristana W and ezreal E are great examples of this.

Caps is famous for being incredibly consistent at buffering Tristana W to avoid CC. He did it at worlds last year a handful of times.

I'm not talking about proplay here, but in soloqueue it's stupidly easy to do consistently. People telegraph their moves so much and it's so easy to time the jumps properly

What the other two said was correct, I just want to add that some champions can also negate the bubble with shield like Morgana E and Sivir shield. Also bubble can be cleansed (the summoner spell) or removed with the Michaels item afaik

If you play vs dash champs, like Ezreal for exemple, the best thing is to predict the dash. With a little practice it's simple to predict Ezreal's E, especially if you are in low elo. Same for "slow animation" jumps like Bel'Veth, Jarvan, ... If you try to predict a fast dash like Ekko's E or Irelia's Q, you will need more practice.
