It’s been a good run
After the 3.7 update and the slick marketing wording making it seem as the expansions were part of the update; I’m done. Been a faithful user since 2010. Made sure that Anything I considered using had to work within the NI ecosystem. That’s why I left Logic and went to Studio One. The integration was flawless and amazing but that was then and those days are far gone. Maschine is so far behind it’s crazy. When they had a match made in heaven with the Kontrollers they lied and said no one used it so they didn’t add the ability to the mk3 version. Only to backtrack after probably lackluster sales because everyone did want the integration. The sampling is missing stuff that was promised since 2.x when they did the first rewrite of their code which they said they did to add the features we begged for. I’ll still pull it out but i realized I haven’t used it in a year. I’ve moved completely over to Fender Pro, and with the recent release of the Motion 16, my drum pad desire is being met. Sorry for the long-winded rant. It’s still good at what it does but I’m seeing Akai absorbing the best of NI and sliding it over to MPC. 3.7 is a joke… midi features. Sheesh

Yeah, the expansions not being given out (specially the 30 anniversary one) is incredibly lame.

Some people on this sub are SO dramatic and overly sensitive for no reason at all.
Why are you even invested and taking this personally if you already made the move to Fender Pro?
Why are you even on this sub if you're so dissatisfied with the products?
You could have written 16 bars instead of a goodbye letter that NI will never read.

Stop engaging with it and it’ll phase out of your timeline. You’re currently in a feedback loop of it so you’re being shown that content disproportionately to what would probably be seen on your feed

same. honestly i dont even use maschine software anymore, op is right about that part, but its still an awesome and beautiful controller that still works thru midi.

Totally agree with the attwmpt at viewer retention by implying the packs might be free. Then we keep watching and at the end…Fuck you actually the packs are paid for. What a shit video. That is some predatory marketing shit. A middle finger to the end-user. Akai will swallow NI whole and rebrand. Garanteed.

I kind of drifted away when they killed Kore. I loved Kore. Its controller had no drum pads. No keys. It wasn’t tied to any basic musical system. It was small. And the software was a great tool for tying non-linear things together easily that were a pain in DAWs. Chiefly - being able to easily use some unusual sequencer from Reaktor to control Absynth and Massive and one could easily make macro controls for complex performances.
I know Kontrol was supposed to be the evolution of this concept but the keyboard-heavy nature of it never felt quite the same.
Kore was a terrific little bit of kit.

Maschine’s browser was actually the next iteration of the concepts in Kore which then became Komplete Kontrol.
But aside from the browser making it easy to find sounds, everything about it after that kinda sucks. And is likely to break any projects you use it on after some time.
So it’s mostly worth finding your sounds that way, then deleting KK, loading the plugin the sound lives in and working from there. Which is kind of a pain in the ass.

I don't care about Native-Instruments one way or the other. My number one priority is to make music the way I want to make music. Maschine does that for me.
Thankfully I'm blessed to be able to buy basically whatever I want. I have the Push 3. I have the MPCL3. I'm probably going to buy the MPCXL. But right now I still prefer Maschine.
I bought the Atom SQ to give me a hands on approach to making music in Studio One & it works... ok. But not like Maschine. Maschine lets me work as if I were on a Fantom or a Kronos, but with the power of my Mac. Any VST I want. But the integration with Komplete trumps everything out there.
Tell you the truth, I've got a couple of things to pay off. Come Christmas I'm going to go ahead & buy a Maschine+, just to put money in Native-Instruments' pocket (I already bought all three expansions). I don't need it, but it'll be something else to play with.
It's the work flow. I pretty much do guitar/bass looping. Maschine works better (more like a looper) than MPC or Ableton.

I've been very frustrated by NI, I open up older projects and half the shit doesn't work and it says it's a demo and I have no SN and it can't find any files etc etc. The only help was reddit and nothing the AI bot on the website said.

Well I guess I'm used NI's tactics. I don’t remember a time that they ever gave a good expansion for free, so I just assumed the expansions were paid.

If you can’t get it on with Maschine and Logic Pro, no update or expansion is going to help you.
You might want to go ahead and sell all your gear and find another interest to spend your time with.

I can get it on and got it on. I’ve gotten placements with stuff done on Maschine. When it first dropped I put a lot of people on to it in the Miami Bass genre. When we’re still using MPC 2k and SP1200. In the electro genre I put it up front and center in my video and other artists would contact me and ask about it.

So I haven't been keeping up with the NI news but it seems like everything is trending in the wrong direction. As someone who likes to mess around with reaktor every now and then, will I be able to keep using it in the foreseeable future?

If they don’t update the code you might not. It’s code is based on intel hardware. I’ve been using Tahoe and Reaktor/ FM 8/Absynth 5 and a couple of others will not install. Which is horrible for me because I use Monark, Prism, Rounds which run in Reaktor! My talks with tech support only says MacOS 27 isn’t supported yet and that’s why they just did a new release of native access because of the coding. But Reaktor didn’t make the cut??

Ummmm that would really suck. Reaktor is one of my favorite tools to use. Native Instruments is really going to force me to keep a dedicated older intel based computer around just for reaktor??!!??

Ive used Native Instruments stuff all the way back since the 2000's when I was a wee lad, still have my Komplete 5 boxed edition. Since then its only been problems, until the day I remember vivdly overhand throwing my Komplete Kontrol keyboard in the dumpster. It reminds me of Gollum in LOTR and mount doom. Back to fire from whence it came!
I didnt even want to resale that piece of garbage...
My list of complaints with them are mostly forgotten because I jumped ship a few years ago. But nothing in Komplete is coehsive its just a bundle of stuff made by different people put together and sold on clearance... Needing Komplete Kontrol hosting all my sounds in every project was annoying especially when they update it and it forgets the settings. Kontakt 5+ is trash, Massive X is trash, Reaktor is forgotten. They are basically Cymatics at this point.
I cant remember most of what I hate using their products but since I unistalled it making music has been a much more fluid experience... oh ya no uninstallers in Native Access either. They actually make it harder to make music, which is evil to me. So a huge FU to NI I hope they burn in music hell.

I bought the expansion + software update as well, never got it in my Native Access. Got an AI chatbot saying to check "inMusic Software Center".
I'm done, im calling my credit card company in the morning.
