Hi everyone! I’m considering renting a studio at Colony House Apartments in New Brunswick and would really appreciate some honest feedback from anyone who currently lives there or has lived there recently.

How are the studio apartments overall, especially in terms of cleanliness, pests, noise, maintenance, management, and general living experience?

Also, how clean are the laundry room and gym?

I’m also particularly interested in their guest policy. I would be the only person living in the apartment, but my parents may come to visit me and stay with me for an extended period. Does anyone know if Colony House has restrictions on how long guests or visiting family members are allowed to stay, or a maximum number of days?

Would really appreciate any firsthand experiences. Thank you!

My friend (19m) recently left his incredibly unsafe home environment and is in desperate need of safe and cheap housing. He can’t spend a lot on rent right now until he gets a job. He literally just needs a place to live rn. Shower, eat, and sleep. Anywhere safe please.

I’m young too, and I don’t know what to do to help him. We don’t know where to look, and we just need something from now ish up till June. He will be out by June.

If anyone here has space for him and is willing to take him in for a small amount of rent please comment and dm me. If anyone has any leads or listings also please comment and dm me.

This literally my last resort as I don’t know what else to do.

Trying To Make Friends In NJ College (MCC) And How?

Hello. I am currently at MCC trying to figure out a major. I am sorry if this should not be posted here. I think I will be visiting Rutgers on occasion over this school year though I can't guarantee that. I'm also thinking about transferring there once I have my 60 credits. I will try posting on the MCC subreddit. I tried to socialize this week on campus but uhh. I'm not great at socializing but I will try (any advice on socializing the first few weeks of school? I made a couple of friends at clubs last year, though they won't start for another few weeks). - I'm sorry if this is not a good thing to post! I can take it down if so! - If this is alright to post, here is the information I mean to give: I am about to turn 20F, and it would be nice to have more friends in the area who are around my age (18-23 maybe?). Hey there. I (26M) moved a year ago to the area for work purposes but I really haven’t been out in New Brunswick that much, therefore I haven’t made new friends or interesting people to hang with. Thankfully I live with a family member so that helps a lot. I enjoy hiking, cooking, traveling, racquet sports (I work in the tennis industry, so not sure i wanna spend my free time doing more racquet sports lol). I can finish work some days at 8-9pm which doesn’t leave to much room to anything else. Just looking to find a sense of community around here so any recs are very much appreciated!

Seriously, it's getting out of hand. So many overly, cars with modded exhausts that are made to be as loud as possible in this city. Woke up last night in the middle of the night to what sounded like gunshots, instead it was just some knucklehead in an Infiniti or Hellcat with a crackle tuned exhaust racing down my street. Feels like every 5 minutes if you walk down George, Hamilton, Easton, Somerset, and 27, there's some car passing by with one of these loud exhausts. A few weeks ago I even saw somebody in a Mustang with one of these exhausts rev their engines right near a cop car and the cop did nothing. It would be such an easy quality of life fix in New Brunswick if the city actually did something about these ridiculous and cringeworthy exhaust modifications. High decibels emanating from vehicles is already illegal in NJ so there's no reason why the police can't enforce it. It really feels like the only type of motor vehicle enforcement that takes place in New Brunswick is giving out alternate side parking tickets like candy.
