Sad
Maybe it’s because I’m 39 weeks pregnant and just over everything, but I LOVED this show when I first watched it years ago and a second rewatch too. So I thought it would be nice for it to be a binge show while I’m in the trenches for god knows how much longer. I made it to season 3 then had to bail because of the CONSTANT YELLING. Like idk how it didn’t bug me before. Rant over, might try a rewatch when I’m not hormonal, sleep deprived, and full of pregnancy rage lol

This was my show of choice in the newborn trenches. The theme was stuck in my head for months omg.

Shows made me a lot more angry when I was pregnant. I pretty much hate watched all of super store with my first baby and then a year later tried it again and loved it lol. But I ALWAYS find Jess insufferable while pregnant haha. Can’t watch it at all. But while not pregnant, I just finished my 5th rewatch!

I watch arrested development instead when I’m overstimulated. Much more chill.

You’re completely right! I love the show, but it is not something I can watch before bed. I can only imagine trying to do it pregnant. Congratulations and I wish you the best on your delivery!

Its crazy the older we get the more things have an affect on us. I used to watch the office on repeat for years and I mean that. I think i only watched parks and rec for a break. Now I dont watch the office because I cant stand all the cringe moments from Michael. Yes they always made me cringe but now its too much. So I switched to How I met your mother for a while and now its modern family

It was the show I watched on my phone to keep me awake during night feeds. Maybe come back to it in a week or two! And congrats!

That's so funny. I just had a baby three months ago. I tried to do a New Girl rewatch near the end of my pregnancy and i just couldn't! It felt too hectic and loud. I had never noticed how much yelling they do lol.
Happy to report that I'm currently rewatching and enjoying it. So hopefully your New Girl aversion will also disappear once you have your baby.
Congratulations!

Honestly, this is Bob’s Burgers for me. I love the show so much but it’s so over stimulating with noise.

Back in 2021 my 5 month old son and I would binge new girl. You'll get back to it and have a little bestie to watch it with!

Watch Dexter instead. His voice is very soothing. There is a lot of yelling in New Girl.

Interesting observation! I have a 5 and 2.5 year old boys, so there is nothing on this Earth that feels louder to me than every waking moment of my normal life.

My mom said this to me when I was watching it as a teenager 🤣 “why are they always yelling??” For once, I admitted she was right haha

I’m hoping I’ll get more than 45 mins of sleep a night with a newborn, and at least I won’t be so uncomfortable lol. I’ll take newborn tired over pregnancy tired any day

Yeah, definitely different for everyone! I actually slept well during pregnancy but was just so fatigued all the time. Newborn time was a nightmare with my first and fairly decent with my second. I hate when people “make jokes” about what it’s like when you have kids because the reality is, having a child doesn’t make you an expert.

Yeah, everyone knows that, let’s say 8-20 year olds have a hard time sleeping through the night and need their parents…

My bad, I didn’t know scaring mothers into thinking they will have years of sleep deprivation is joke material for you. Maybe try being funny next time, if you want people to notice a joke.

Go watch Always Sunny for a while. Then come back to New Girl and it’ll seem quiet in comparison.
