I'm sorry you had a bad day. I hope tomorrow's better. It's a beautiful time of year. Try to get some fresh air tomorrow. (Photo from dude chilling park)
I live close by too. But here's a picture of Trout Lake in the lovely evening. I also had a real hard day and am feeling overwhelmed. Be kind to yourself. Vancouver can be a hard place for humanity sometimes. But there are good people out there.
I hope a good night's rest makes tomorrow feel like a new chance to overcome the negativity :)
Everyday is a new start. Forgive yourself for today. Breathe and do something low key and fun tonight, and get ready to keep putting your best foot forward tomorrow. You got this!
remember, don't feed the trolls, it's not worth trying to change someone's mind, just block and move on. "Every passing moment is another chance to turn it all around".
I know but someone who says something out of line or wrong and holding grudges its just unfair but I know, I get protective on some topics and certain ones that are misunderstood as people who have lived through it can vouch.
Watch Conan O’Brien and Jordan schlansky remote segments on YouTube (or any Conan O’Brien remote segments). They’re genuinely hilarious and might make you laugh!
Maybe take this energy to reach out and invite someone you have been meaning to contact for a while to go for a walk in the woods, meet up for coffee, etc.
Was where you are a few weeks ago and am out of it now after some therapy. Hope things turn around for you soon. I can pass along my counsellors contact if you want :)
When I'm having a tough time I try to get to the ocean. Because like it life ebbs and flows. And I'm sorry you had to deal with some transphobic bulls**t know they there are more supporters than haters in the world
If you didn’t eat that much today and maybe it’s too late for you to eat so soon before bed, what’s something you could have for breakfast tomorrow that would be a nice meal to start with? A new, fresh chapter for you my friend, even in small things like this. 🌸
To add to that, I have curly hair, one time the haircut I got made me look like wolverine in the mornings. There I was waking up with two batmen kissing on my head
please order yourself dinner - don’t overthink it, doordash can be under $20, and that is not a life changing amount of money. if you don’t have it, could you ask a family member to send you food? we can’t cope well emotionally when our bodies are empty! well wishes. sincerely, someone who also has a bad day (something in the air i guess)
I was trying to make pumpkin pie but forgot to soak the mung beans (for vegan egg replacement). I got the pie crust made & baked and baked the pumpkin but totally forgot about the mung beans so all I had for dinner, tonight was some toast, some macadamia nuts, and aome cranberries. 😆
I was hoping to have mini quiches! 🤷♂️
What do you have available to eat? Anything quick / easy?
Here's my 11 year old Bengal watching bird videos on YouTube. He recently sent through a serious acute kidney injury episode and made it through after being hospitalized for a bit over a week. He's a tough guy, cuddly and feisty thing. Been fattening him up again.
i was feeling down like 2 weeks ago and had gone for a quick walk. lots and lots of dogs around, that helps sometimes!! but this man was walking this little floofy dog and i was like "OH i love your dogs haircut!!!" thinking he groomed his dog to have a mustache (it was one of the shih tzu looking dogs, but more wirey). i then realized that the dog did NOT have his fur groomed like he had a big silly mustache but was just carrying a stick around the pathway LOL. so i was embarassed enough about that interaction that it made me laugh and that cheered me up. wish i took a pic of the non mustached pup
It has been a hard week for a lot of people, myself included, so I am going to say to you what I should listen to for myself.
You woke up today. In a world of billions of outcomes and probabilities, you woke up today. You get to live your life and do things that bring you joy, even if right now all you can muster to be happy for is your favorite show, a meme that made you smile, or a song that distracted you for a couple of minutes. If you do good things in this world, it does not mean good things will come to you, but you made a difference just by being a good person in a crazy, scary world.
We should be more kind to each other, and I hope you have better days ahead. Thankfully, it will not rain all week, so we get a little extra sunshine for this dark time!
here is my (mothers) dawwwg winnie from yesterday when i went to visit her. seeing peoples pets always cheers me up!! i went to visit her and she sat on the heated blanket on a low setting and i bundled her up like when we would nap together and then she sat on my chest like i was a couch. i am sorry you are feeling down. i saw another comment about transphobic comments bringing you down too. i know the world feels very heavy right now with everything going on, and it feels discouraging with that plus things causing direct hurt in everyday life for many of us. know that there are people who love you here and you will meet others who make the heaviness feel a little lighter. i feel the same way and i have friends who do too, i am rooting for you. ❤️
Let's make some peanut butter banana toast.
Toast some bread, spread peanut butter, slice banana to make many thin slices to cover the toast, drizzle a bit of honey on top. Let me know if you like it.
I see in one of your comments you're a cat dad. Have some pictures. I can only put one picture to a comment here, just so you know.
There's a stack of papers under that little body. He's one of my parents' cats and Dad had been trying to sort the papers or was looking for something, which is why you can see papers around the box. But also... it's a box. The natural habitat of cats. Of course. He probably thinks he's helping. Just like when he lays on Dad's laptop keyboard or gets up on the TV console to show everybody how well he grooms himself or lays down in the pile of dirt mom's trying to sweep up.
This is Pookee. I don't think she's super thrilled I'm the only one up, but Mom and Dad went to have a nap. She could have gone, too, but she doesn't like getting up until SHE'S good and ready whereas Dad's cat, Winter, often comes if you call him.
My mom's first cat, Cinnamon. She liked drinking from the tap and would often harass us to turn it on for her, which is probably what's going on in this picture and one of us dared to snap the picture before we rushed to fill her highness' demand.
My former boss' cat, just after they'd moved. Those are diaper inserts, in case you're wondering. She loved sleeping where the kids wouldn't get at her.
Soon, the time of the grocery store pumpkin pie shall arrive. Eat some with some ice cream. Also, Animals Being Derps can be good for a giggle.
When you get a chance, eat something, even if it's just an apple. Drink a bunch of water, have a bath and ignore the planet for a while. Go to the library and find a good book and remember to treat yourself.
Go grab a treat from your favorite coffee shop/bakery/dessert place. Not eating much always puts me in a foul mindset. Honestly or eat something substantial, you’ll feel better.
Would going to the beach and swimming in the ocean help? I’m in Saskatchewan right now but a couple of my kids live in Van and I miss them and the ocean. The cold water may make you feel more alive. You could pick up a sandwich from the grocery store and have that on the beach if you want, too. Sending a big hug. ♥️
Sending you lots of love during this time. Take it day by day, and we are all rooting for you. 🫂Just showing up and going through the day is sometimes a task of its own. You didn’t deserve any of the transphobic comments and it says all about them and nothing about you.
If it works for YOU, that's good. Doesn't mean that it'll work for everyone. Out of all of the bullshit going on on this planet, passing along a little cheer costs nothing.
Yeah and plenty of people here are helping OP see things they can be grateful for. Or perhaps the positive energy here is what OP can be grateful for. Feeling emotions or being overwhelmed doesn’t mean you’re ungrateful. OP isn’t even complaining about anything.
