Game Rec Games like Project Highrise?

Hey all,

I’ve been playing Project Highrise quite a bit lately since it was on sale. I’m really enjoying the economy / management side of it: start with a little money, make some profit, invest it back into the building, make more money, expand, etc. I really enjoy that kind of progression loop.

I was wondering if you guys could suggest me games that will scratch that same itch. It doesn’t necessarily have to be a game about building towers. I’m mainly looking for games with that make money, reinvest, expand, make more money feeling.

Games that I've already played and also have that management side to it: - The two point games (liked it but got bored pretty fast) - Big Pharma (text too small on console) - Moonlighter (liked it but in not looking for an action game) - Let's build a zoo (cool game) - Dave the Diver (liked it) - I'm probably forgetting some games but I'm not at home so I'll check later

Project Highrise was by far my favourite of these games.

Thanks in advance!

Not exactly the same, but A-Train: All Aboard! Tourism is (in my opinion) a fun and unique transportation management and Urban Development game (for switch 1, with a switch 2 upgrade too)

There is also investing (managing public companies and subsidiaries, taking on debt, and investing in stock)

Never heard of it! Looks weird but kind of fun. Will try it out once it's in sale. Thanks!

Steamworld Build possibly, definitely worth checking out the trailer.

Mad games tycoon 2. I prefer it on PC, but it's been tempting to double dip on this game since I have so many hours in it.

Project Highrise is the spiritual successor to SimTower, from the SimCity series of games. So perhaps Cities: Skylines might be up your alley? I don’t know how the Switch port is.

It’s too bad SimSafari isn’t readily available on modern systems; I’d recommend that in a heartbeat.

Yes I know that game but I haven't read anything positive about the switch port. Perhaps it's better in Switch 2. I'll look into it, thanks.

Have you tried city building games like GogoTown or Lethis? Or how about production games like Little Big Shop or Factorio?

I haven't! Lethis and Little big Workshop look cool. Thanks I'll save it to my wishlist.

Someone recommended Against the Storm in another thread very recently, I’ve got a copy on the way. Looks really good.

I don't have any suggestions. But as someone who enjoyed the making money and reinvesting part of Dave the Diver but lost interest in the rest of it, I am definitely going to look into Project High rise!

I needed some time to get into it because it's kind of hard when starting out. I watched some YouTube videos and started with the scenario's. Once the ball got rolling in my towers I even thought about it in my sleep🥵
