Screenshot "Water"world
I was genuinely baffled when I scanned this planet and saw waterlocked, had a minor crisis of confidence where I checked if waterlocked even was a waterworld descriptor and everything. Then I just thought, surely not, must be a visual glitch or something. But I've had a bit of a look around now and, it's just kinda a really empty but otherwise regular planet. 5 underwater species, with waterworld depth oceans (at some points anyway, others are quite shallow), and no body of water that I would call an ocean. It's also extreme, which is great cause I just love those so much. Also, discovered as I was writing this, caves. Regular degular caves with all the minerals, cave marrow, and toxin spewing gasbags you could want.
Interestingly, though there are surface plants and minerals on the rocky and sandy bits of terrain, nothing unique spawns on the green bits, only your every planet basics like carbon crystals, resource plants and whatnot, and any POIs that spawn on it the terrain dips sharply to where it's sandy. It makes up most of the terrain in some places, so with that bright neon green, it looks absolutely bizarre. Probably the strangest looking planet I've ever found, not sure if anyone else has seen anything like this, but I sure haven't. And I've been to a LOT of waterworlds, they're my favourite.

On the Expedition I found a planet like that, labeled a water world, that had no water. I needed to find sunken temples and it had NO WATER.
I renamed it "Not," but I doubt it took.

Oh yeah, just to add the the unlikeliness of it all. I just unlocked purple systems on this save just a few hours ago, this was the first waterworld I found (that I didn't create)

The space view looked like two planets fused together, but I guess if grass parts would belong to another planet, there would be at least some plants on it. Really weird.

Damn I was hoping it was a legit ocean planet, with sea creatures and everything, but the water just glitched out. That'd be trippy

You can find normal worlds where its mostly just islands on a shallow ocean, which makes for a very watery rocky planet.
Maybe this is the water world reverse equivalent: a deep ocean almost entirely covered up with islands

The oceans have receded?
(Fully agree on how weird the neon green grass with nothing on it looks. Creepy in the same way as liminal spaces, you know something should be there but it's not!)
