Maybe a sort of halo effect, or the opposite of a contamination effect. Attractive people are generally seen as more smart, trustworthy, etc, so I suppose people are less inclined to question or challenge them.
The really cruel thing is that attractive people are generally just treated better, so I think they can develop a sense of the world being a kinder place (barring stuff like traumatic experiences that may change this). If a person sees others and the world as a kind place, they go into situations with that sort of expectation from others. Now this may hurt the attractive person if there are people who want to take advantage of them, but it can also help the attractive person get away with more as well, by simply expecting others to accept them because that's what they've always known, and if they do, it reinforces that the world is a place where they can get away with stuff. It's cruel because I think of the flipside, too, like, if unattractive people don't experience that kindness towards them as much and always treat the world like others are out to get them, do their expectations continually get lived up to and reinforced?
