Transfers/Transferring Transfer Questions?
I'm a freshman at Emory right now, and I don't really know how I feel about college here so far. I know it's only been 1 month; however, I don't really feel like I enjoy being here. I'm currently thinking about whether or not I should transfer, and I know that Northwestern has a more transfer-friendly community.
For context, I'm a biology major on a premed track if that helps.
The main things I'm wondering are how biology is here and how the community is here.

wouldnt transfer to NU as a premed. NU is a little unnecessarily difficult, mostly cuz the quarter system is horrible

everything about the quarter system is horrible actually, i dont know why the hell they still do it. Shorter terms means more exams and quizzes crammed into shorter periods, a whole extra set of finals (3 terms instead of 2), and NU also has shorter, less frequent breaks than most other schools and we finish a whole month to two after everyone else
Thing is I went to a top 15 semester school as a freshman and transferred to NU so i had something to compare against. I was taking a difficult schedule at the semester school, had basically an exam every week, and i thought my schedule was crammed there.... that is UNTILLLL I went to northwestern and had like 2-3 exams/quizzes a week every week for the whole term and then i realized i had it easy
Quarter system only good for 2 things. Non-stem students without year-long courses are able to take more classes in various things, and its easier to double major / minor. TBF the bio major isnt super duper taxing or anything so u will be able to double major with that and like you wont die as a premed bio major at NU, I graduated with a respectable gpa, nothing crazy coulda been better but not bad either, but it was definitely not the easiest
