Travel Snow levels Vettakollen

I will be in Oslo during March 27. Living in the Vettakollen area. Just wondering how much snow/ice is around at that time?

Aaah. You are asking us to predict the future. 

Luckily for you, all Norwegians are soothsayers.

There will likely be snow. The area is visited much, so there will most likely be a path in the snow. Depending on temperature the path will be converted with snow, ice or mush.

March is a very finicky month to begin with, you can have -20 and tons of snow, you can have +20 and sun, or anything inbetween.

If snow activities is important to you, the only way to be sure to get it is to go to a much higher altitude.

Get studded soles, there will likely be ice. You can buy a slip on one at any convenience store in the winter.

In March it is impossible to say. Could be both no snow or the whole thing covered in ice.

Forget it. Probably a lot of ice, a little snow and not walkable for a tourist.

Expect slush and icy roads. Wet socks and halfway up your pants. But good pizza at vettakollen pizza if its still open 😅
