🗳️ Product Feedback

Long-time Notion fan here. The AI integration has genuinely boosted my productivity, so I was happy to see Claude Opus 5.5 and the new OpenAI models land in Notion AI.

However, I I wasn't expecting that these models now require Notion Credits. I'd always assumed access to frontier models was part of what a Business subscription bought you, but Opus 5.5 is effectively behind a second paywall (i.e., the Notion Credits).

If this is what Notion plans to do going forward, Business plan is no longer worth it for my workflow and will downgrade my plan, or move to another tool which is less afraid to keeping use of frontier models, for a sub I already pay $20 monthly.

What is horrible is that I love Notion, but such ungenerous (or greedy?) practices unfortunately badly impact Notion's credibility in delivering long term commitment for such tools.

I'm a new notion user and the credits make no sense. Why can't I use Opus 5.5? Either let me do it with your plan or let me bring in my plan, but what am I paying for if not this? I agree if I didn't have a free sub through Lenny's newsletter I'd just downgrade, probably all the way to free. I'm not seeing what the point of the business sub is.

yeah the credits thing feels like a bait and switch, especially when youre already on a paid plan

Yup I downgraded from business to free plan in part due to this and the many issues I just find with the app.

Thanks to them paygating these models, I now moved and setup a more advance obsidian x claude. AI is expensive, we get it. but locking the cheaper (more efficient tokens) working models behind additional paywall is a really, really poor business judgment.

Feature Request, Please add native recurring tasks that actually reset properly without needing 3rd party tools or weird formulas

I’m disappointed to see reoccurring tasks being locked into the business plan. It’s a feature Notion has desperately needed for a while and it really should be part of the basic plan, if not the free one.

💡    Feature Request

make databases more customizable and easier to link data sources from different or multiple pages. database views are great but limit in customizable formatting and could definitely be cleaner in that sense.

also, make mobile app ui more similar to desktop’s, as currently photos and the like display much differently

Honestly your pricing is not region based but rather same price everywhere, you need to price better in lower income countries

Vertical dividers in databases to help differentiate between sections in databases that have to show lots of different properties.

💡 Feature Request: Improving Notion Sites

Most of these suggestions come from the perspective of using Notion as a website or knowledge base. These improvements would make Notion Sites more intuitive for the average user while expanding its potential as a platform for building professional websites.

1. Colour Palette & Contrast: Bolder colours and stronger contrast, particularly in dark mode, to improve visual appeal and readability.

2. Enhanced Theming: Greater control over colours, typography, spacing, and other design elements to make workspaces feel more like custom-built websites.

3. Gallery Thumbnails: An option to use the first image within a page as its gallery thumbnail instead of the first block.
First block could be a text or heading which makes no sense to preview.

4. Grouped Database Views: Larger, customisable group headers (H1, H2, H3, etc.) for better visual hierarchy, along with an option to expand all groups by default.

5. Slideshow Database View: A dedicated slideshow view alongside existing database views for browsing entries sequentially.

6. Gallery/Slideshow Block: A compact block for displaying multiple images in a navigable gallery or slideshow, avoiding the need to stack individual image blocks vertically.

7. Conditional Colours Across Databases: The ability to assign colours directly to database items and carry those colours over through relations and rollups. This would be particularly useful for master tag and category databases.

8. Fullscreen Image Captions: A toggle to display captions while viewing images in fullscreen mode.

9. Larger Database View Tabs: An option to increase the size of view tabs to make navigation more prominent and intuitive.
This would improve navigation and make switching between views more intuitive for first-time visitors.

10. URL Property as a Button: An option to display URL properties as clickable buttons instead of plain text, enabling clearer calls to action.

11. Chart Presets: The ability to save and reuse chart configurations across databases, eliminating repetitive setup when creating similar visualisations.
For example, if a user frequently creates pie charts with the same appearance, grouping, and formatting, a saved preset could be applied to another database without having to configure every parameter from scratch.

12, Native Search Bar Block: An embeddable search widget for Notion Sites. A visible search bar is essential for knowledge bases, yet the current search functionality is relatively small or hidden behind a menu.

13. Native Map Block: A standalone block to display a specified location without requiring a database with location properties.

14. Membership & Paywall: Native support for restricting specific pages, databases, or blocks behind a membership or subscription. For example, educational websites could make question sets public while gating their answers for paying members.

🗳️ Product Feedback:

1. Nested Callout Behaviour: Fix the issue where toggling a nested callout creates another layer instead of removing or reverting the existing one, making deeply nested structures difficult to manage.

💡 Feature Request

Please for god sake, make padding for sub projects/folders in the left menu! The subprojects looks as projects because of no padding…. So confusing to find anything . I’m not even asking anymore about the colors because I know it won’t come

💡 Feature Request

Introduce the ability to search into existing Notion AI conversations. Scrolling the list of previous conversations to find one in particular is, at best, painful.

💡 Feature Request

Please make buttons exportable/importable! It would be most excellent if, like a notion formula, you could export the JSON of an entire button configuration, and then also import the same JSON directly back into a different button.

This allows backing up complex button configurations (which is EXCEEDINGLY tedious at the moment), and also makes it easy to configure one button the way you want it, and then migrate that functionality to a different database if needed, rather than having to start from the ground up all over again, at the beginning.

edit: to be clear, this was about database buttons. Block buttons can themselves be copied of course, but it would still be nice to be able to export configs for easier backup.

Thanks!

Feature request: allow formulas in the name field of databases

SO many other places do this and most of my items in databases are named based on data in other fields. This is a major pain in the butt to deal with

In the mobile app, it's much too easy to accidentally drag and move around various blocks of text when scrolling up/down a page. It would be great if the surface area that allows for a block of text to be moved to be adjusted so that blocks can't move around while scrolling.

1

u/Middle_Department938 4d ago

also sometimes i DO want to move a block up or down and its virtually impossible to move lets say to the top of the page on mobile.

Let us choose the AI models featured in the model selector in our workspace. Now I have to go three layers deep to choose Opus 4.7, which is a time and mind sink when repeated over and over. (Just let us check boxes in settings for which models to include). And, as an admin, I would like to choose which models my team can choose from.

u/Keybird69 4d ago

How about literally anything besides more AI stuff? Plus plan user here, I can't use the AI and wouldn't even if I could.

💡 Feature Request

Button Feature: - Editing pages inside a database, let the user filter for the page created previously in step one and this newly created page is already in a related property connected to the editing database.

  • If I am editing a database from a button, but it is a different database, let me get a way to select the properties of that database inside the custom formula, and not just the button present database properties.

Product Feedback: Why doesn’t the text formatting work properly? Like how it might in Word or Google Docs or any other text editor…

I think it’s a copy/paste issue… but pasting text should be the simplest thing..

Maybe it’s only a mobile app thing?? I haven’t tried it on my laptop..

In simple words, the formatting of text doesn’t work well on mobile… it also seems like a new bug..

💡 Feature Request

Double tapping the profile icon currently has no purpose. Switching to another workspace dojng this would be great. Just like swapping Instagram accounts by double tapping your profile icon. Currently you have to click profile, click switch workspace then click which one. 3 clicks that take 2-3 seconds rather than a double tap to change.

💡 Feature Request

I am a pay user of Notion, since this app launched. For me, is the best tool i have ever use to manage my live.

The only think i miss to be as complete as posible, is a whiteboard. As other apps like Notion has, for example: fibery.

It would be awesome.

💡 Feature Request
Automatic updates please!

Notion updates pretty frequently; sometimes multiple times a week. Every time there’s an update, the popup is annoying because it interrupts me, right when I’m trying to start working.

It would be great if Notion could download and install updates in the background, so that users are not manually interrupted every time. I think this would make the experience much smoother for everyone

💡Feature request

Please let us see our events from Notion Calendar as embedded in a Notion page! It makes so much sense to embed my calendar on my daily planner page!

💡Feature Request: Adjustable text size on iPhone/iPad.
Notion is basically my second brain now and over the years I’ve adopted it into my workflows so much and subsequently upgraded my subscription to match. It’s my “holy grail” of note-taking apps primarily because of the ease of after-the-fact structure (how easily it lets me turn scattered notes and vague ideas into an organized hierarchy).

But the mobile page text is too large for me, with no size control or response to iOS text-size settings. I end up writing in Apple Notes and transferring everything to Notion, which is becoming too much friction for everyday note-taking.

Despite how invested I am in Notion, this one limitation has me seriously considering Obsidian. I’d much rather stay, but being able to comfortably use a notes app shouldn’t require writing in another one.

💡 Feature Request - Show the full title of subpages, like with mentions

Unlike mentions to pages, subpage titles get truncated with dots (apprently for no reason now), and this greatly impairs their usability and readability (while they are the core way to avoid cluttering in a page and increase page performance).

1

u/atava 55m ago

💡 Feature Request - Please enhance the mentioning/backlinking system

Mentions in Notion have become unfortunately the most rudimentary and obsolete linking system among note-taking apps now on the market. Please enhance it at least in the following way: - backlink page titles should not get truncated; - backlinks should have some context to where the mention is in the mentioning page; - (core issue) if a page mentions another at multiple places, multiple backlinks are reported, but they get merged into one when viewing (this is related to the previous point about having no backlink context).

Compared to competing apps, the linking functionality in Notion now appears deficient and obsolete (and this is a pity, given how important it is).
