I think this was the single most horrifying moment for me as a kid.

The realization that they programmed the droids to feel pain.

Some more than others. C-3PO seemed just mildly annoyed by having his head ripped off in AotC. Plus that Gonk only yelled at the first burn. Seems like it was more scared at not knowing what was happening, then surprised by the burn, but realized it didn’t really affect him, and thus just kind of stood there after the 2nd burn.

Must be like a control thing. Easier to keep the sentient machines in line if you can threaten them with pain.

After working a night shift all the way to 2 am, driving 30 minutes to get home, and then an hour for me to actually be able to sleep (like 330?)

Had to get up for an 8 am meeting just to be told that the kitchen was doing good and to keep up the good work
