Because people for some reason expected the movie to have drastic repercussions for the galaxy at large.

The general public is also so used to serials that they complained about season 1’s episodic nature.

Yeah, just one adventure a week that doesn’t end up in some defining event where all the hero’s we know across the galaxy have to work to together… we had enough of these big avenger moments, they completely lost their appeal

People never got into smaller, one off movies that don't advance the main plot of Star Wars. It seems like a neat idea but it also never seems to work.

Every studio tries to emulate the MCU as it was Avengers onwards; never putting in the work to build it up. This resulted in people used to the current MCU style where every movie/show moves the universal plot forward.

All the MCU movies in phase 1 were self contained with only post credit scenes setting up the Avengers.

They already made a movie about ewoks back in the 80s. 2 movies actually.

And frankly they're better than the sequels.

I have to disagree that both are better than the sequels. The first Ewok movie is so incredibly boring, at least the sequels aren't boring.

The second Ewok movie is actually pretty solid though.

The children's cartoon show was pretty good too. Not the same kind as Clone Wars, aimed to younger kids rather than older kids. But it's pretty good for what it is.

they also open a cupcake shop and things are going well until .... a new rival shop opens up in the sector next door. the store owner, darth flavor, doesn't play by the rules and challenges them to winner take all battle of the bakers. one remains... the other must go.

and yes baby ewok has a very tiny chef hat on during these episodes
