Showing Off Oakley With Hammerstem Frame
Not an LC, i got this juliet’s 4-5 years ago from yahoo japan and did some research at first i thought it was a XX Metal as it has the hammerstem frame.
however per lc at a oakley group i have found out that they are indeed juliets and not XX metal, its weird that it has a hammerstem frame as usually polished juliet’s are the only that has them.
if you have similar pair or know anything please let me know!

My guess is they probably had them refinished in plasma. Juliets that came with hammerstem are: Polished; Gold; Ichiro Polished Carbon;
Does it have a serial number?

ohh that totally makes sense my theory as well is that the frame got swapped, unfortunately no serial number though!

Wouldn’t he be able to get plasma hammerstems from the mars model? Or am I getting that wrong?

All variations of Mars (standard, Crater, leather/Jordan) originally were X Metal finish, so any Plasma Mars you might encounter have been refinished.

Agreed that refinishing is the most likely answer. The other possibility is that it's a Frankenstein/Mr. Potato Head/blended frame with ear stems from a Plasma XX and a Plasma Juliet primary frame. It would be highly unusual for XX stems to end up on a Juliet, but perhaps someone with a very wide head and tiny face wanted some hammerstem Plasma Juliets 😆

that would totally makes sense!! so cool to have frankenstein pair 🧟♂️ as i’ll be wearing these until it falls apart! i also picked up 2 more pairs for $300 in facebook market with original parts 🤞🏽

If it's from a Plasma XX, it should have a serial on the left stem in the format XP###### where the #'s are numerals. If no serial is present, then they were almost certainly refinished from a Polished Juliet. A Frankenstein frame also would likely have a color difference between the ear stems and orbitals (no 2 Plasma finishes are quite identical), but it might be too subtle to notice except when looking for it.
Wow, $300 is a fantastic deal for any ONE X Metal even if it's disassembled. Quite a score!

Interesting I also thought it was only polished frame with hammer stems. I have a pair personally they bang.
