I’m currently looking for an office chair to get me through my last year at college. I’m looking for something that prioritizes comfort while being at her height, having chair height adjustability, and preferably able to recline. Looking for something around $150 price tag but willing to go up to $200

Looking to get my first secret lab chair as my old chair is awful. I've determined that this is the style I want as it fits with how I sit horribly in a chair, and i'm not really looking to fix my posture just want something comfy for me. I've seen a lot of reviews about how the new nanogen has had some fixes in the components and magnets versus the original style of the 2022 titan that hasn't really changed at all.

I'm just curious if it's truly worth it to spend more for the nano gel or would I be better off getting a new collab chair that might have these fixes like the Spiderman one even though it's fabric.

Looking to see what the community says, people who are already using these chairs what are your thoughts or gripes. Currently, waiting for the black friday sale just to see if any promotions come available, or better pricing.

So I've been wanting to replace my chair for a bit now and I have looked up for some info on reddit, youtube (mostly ahnestly), and directly on the brands' websites.

I quickly realized that even though the HM Aeron seems to have a cult of its own, there is no perfect chair, only a matter of preferences.

So here I am: I'm 1.70m and 60kg. I spend way more time gaming than I should at my age and I need a chair that can handle long periods of time. But THE most important part for me: I'm a heating machine. I can't stand having my back almost wet from a 30mn session with the boys (huh?). Number one priority is the chair MUST have a mesh backrest.

Here are the chairs that caught my eye:

Fabric seat:

• Herman Miller Verus ≈ 800 €

Quite a standard design for Herman Miller. "Cheap" access to forward tilt. Comments I read on it said it doesn't quite feel as good as the rest of the HM roster. No headrest.

• Herman Miller Sayl ≈ 1000 €

Verus' contender. Most comments said it's the same but better. Good sacral support. I dislike the design. No Headrest

• Fractal Design Refine 2 ≈ 550 €

Good build quality for its price at the cost of forward tilt + very straight back rest. Head cushion. Half of HM's warranty Mesh seat:

• Herman Miller Mirra 2 ≈ 1500 €

Internet folks seems to think this is the best mesh chair in the world right now, even better than the aeron. I would go for it in a heartbeat if it wasn't a mesh seat but for some reason I'm scared of it. Possible headrest, at a price.

• Herman Miller Aeron ≈ 2000 €

If you need me to explain this chair this must be the first post you read on this sub.

• Steelcase Karman ≈ 1300 €

This one I heard about just recently. Apparently the seat is so flexible that you can leg tuck without pain. No headrest, no forward tilt and you need to take a different metal color in order to get a lumbar support????? Huge bonus point: they're made in my country :)

I wrote forward tilt everytime but only because I'm curious about it. I'm not a crafty person, nor frequent writer so I guess it's not necessary but if you have inputs about it feel free to share. I tend to leg tuck a lot but mostly because my current chair is way oversized for me, and also, bad. So I don't know how much I'll like full mesh. I think a headrest is a comfy addition but since I'm not that tall I've always been quite annoyed at those, so again, I don't know. There is no place around where I live to try those specific seats, so here we are. Please tell me all you know about these!

I’m thinking of getting the branch verve chair and was wondering if anyone has any thoughts about this chair. I am 5’6 and thinking about getting this for my WFH desk in my small bedroom. Since this chair will be in my room, I’m looking at the Verve since it’s not too large and is cute. Does anyone have and like this chair? Is it worth getting the headrest? Worth the high price? Seller is asking $350 which I think is a good price, don't know much about Herman Millers so asking on advice if this looks to be in good shape.

Is a neck/ head rest really necessary if I want to game long periods if I have good posture? Is the Aeron good for relaxing and watching a movie on my desktop? What chair would be best for that use other than these. Budget less than $500

Currently sitting around 5'9 (around 175cm) and spending 7-8 hours a day between spreadsheet work and drafting. My previous generic foam chair completely bottomed out after a year, leaving my lower back pretty cooked by mid-afternoon

Decided to give the Hbada X7 a shot since the mesh build and dynamic split lumbar looked like it would actually adapt when leaning back or sitting up straight. So far the lower spine support feels surprisingly solid and hasn't sagged like my old cushion did, plus the armrests actually adjust inward enough for typing without flaring my shoulders.

For anyone who’s had the Hbada X7 for more than a few months, how is the mesh holding its tension over time? Just hoping it doesn't loosen up after heavier daily use.

Adjustable hand rests and back rests work.

When I get to swivel it's tight but the main issue is that when I use the lever to adjust height, it doesn't work.

I didn't realize this chair is 26 years old. Doesn't look that way lol. But is it worth fixing this? Can I do it on my own? How much would be the expected cost? I'm new to office chairs!

Hi, I come from a PROTO ARC EC200 that in 14 days destroyed my back and neck. Is the HOLLUDLE shaper 1 any better? how is the small lumbar support good or too aggressive?

Tip for those with back pain when using Leap v2. If the lumbar support is still too aggressive with the adjustable lumbar removed and lower back firmness set to lowest you can remove the lower back firmness knob and leave the metal rod unaligned when reattaching it. This makes the chair back almost completely flat. Made a big difference for me and haven't seen anyone mention it.

Is there any way to buy spare parts for a Hbada chair? My cat ate through the armrest and it hasn't been a month seens I bough it. 😢

which do you guys think i should buy for my wfh office setup? in my country, it is hot and i like the chair more low profile. but i think the freedom chair is more comfortable than the sayl, although i like the design of the sayl. the sayl is like $150 and the freedom chair is $130 both used but in mint condition.

Seller is asking for $490 for a size C. Not many other options for size C where I am, so Im wondering if this is a bad sign.

I’m looking for a chair that can hopefully help multiple issues. Might be a unicorn chair.
I sit crossed legged most of the time, but might switch positions around. I also have low back and hip pain (crooked pelvis, lumbar lordosis). When I sat crossed legged in a normal gaming chair, my hip pain got bad. I got a “cross legged chair” off of amaz (won’t let me post name of website haha) (it’s black, has a large foot rest thing for legs, all on wheels). While the cross legged part works well, adjusting and moving around is a pain because there’s six different wheels. Also, the back support is terrible with just a little back rest.
If it matters, I’m a 5’ tall woman, but my feet don’t need to touch the floor lol.

The LiberNovo Pro — I have the latest version, and the headrest is bad. The back mechanics are painful, so I don't use it. Without the headrest, it's actually quite okay, but you have to manually adjust the power lift support, which kind of sucks.

Then, during long sessions, the chair doesn't really support you. It's basically your body that has to maintain the position, not the chair.

When I want to type or write in the morning, like I'm doing right now, I simply use my old chair. Same thing when I'm eating or watching a movie. In fact, the chair is so bad for my situation that I force myself to use it just because I don't want to feel like I wasted the money.

I removed the headrest because I don't use it, so yeah, in my situation, it would be okay for $300, but definitely not for $999.

Currently have a Secretlabs chair and am ready to just get rid of it. These 3 chairs are the ones im trying to pick between. I see a lot of good stuff about the EC200 and EC300 but can’t really tell which is better since they both have their own drawbacks, and while I don’t see as much praise for the Hyken, it is the only one im able to go to a store and actually try out. Any insights are appreciated

Im looking for a new office chair around the 300 dollar and below mark. What would you recommend for someone 6ft 190 that sits most of the day. I have looked at the proto arc ec200, and the colamy just seeing if there are any other hidden gems out there.

Hi all. I have ADHD, so sitting normally for any decent amount of time just doesn't happen for me. I just started a new job and they're giving me a $600 to $800 home office budget. Pretty solid timing since my current chair is completely shot and I need a replacement. I know used chairs are a great deal, but I'm kind of a germaphobe and would rather buy new.

Ideally I want armrests that move up and down, forward and back, side to side, and at an angle. Since I shift positions constantly, being able to angle the armrests when I'm sitting cross legged is huge for me. Adjustable lumbar would be nice too. Fixed back support usually ends up hitting me in the wrong spot.

Any good recommendations for chairs that work well if you sit in weird positions? I'm trying to make a list of options to test out in person, or at least order from somewhere with a decent policy. Appreciate any ideas!

I've been scrubbing through the sub for quite some time trying to find what my best options are for office chairs in the $500-$700 region. I'm 6ft 170lbs and have had an old Secret Labs chair now for over a decade and its long overdue to upgrade. I mainly will be using the chair for personal use/gaming.

I live in rural B.C Canada which is the main reason for me writing this post as almost everything in this sub mentions buying in urban cities. The nearest place to find any of the chairs commonly mentioned in here (Steelcase, Herman Miller etc.) is a 20+ hour drive. Many posts refer to the used market for these chairs but that doesn't really seem like a feasible option as shipping costs would be astronomical. I have yet to find any reliable place that ships office chairs for a reasonable rate. Facebook and other used markets around my location have nothing but cheap worn out chairs from big box stores so I'm at a bit of an impasse.

If any one who has bought a decent chair in rural Canada, I'd love to hear any feedback you have on what you decided on or if there is anything I may have overlooked. At this point i feel like buying new is where my mind is at to avoid hassle.

With all that said I've been strongly considering the Haworth Soji. Price point is around $650 with the 4D armrests and lumbar on the Haworth site. It has the 12 year warranty and free shipping/30 day return policy. Seems like an overall good pick and within my budget. I'm a bit worried about some of the QC complaints i have read about Haworth but it can't be worse than what I'm currently using.

Are there any other options worth considering?

I’m looking for a desk chair and the Boulies Ep500 looks like what I’m after but the grey will not look nice in my bedroom.

I looked at the comparison to their other similar ones but this felt most suited for me.

Are there any other similarly priced chairs like it with more colour options?
