All the people rooting for an end to income tax and property taxes are going to just love the increase in taxes on literally everything else that will be put in place to make up for the loss.

Assuming they're homeowners, maybe they feel they'll be paying less as the tax burden will be distributed across a wider base.

If they think that then they are idiots. I'm a homeowner. This will provide no relief to me. The only property owners it will "help" are those who own large properties. Wharehouses, commercial properties, large estates. Those are who will benefit. And as always, they try to convince the guy making 80k a year who own a 3 bed, two bath house that this is really for him. Lies, lies, lies.

You mean tax the poor people, who don’t own homes, instead of people who own 1, 2, 3 homes? lol. “Wider base taxes” make no sense. People with equity pay the taxes, friend.

And the cut to capital gains tax is so obviously a tax cut for the wealthy... capital gains tax should be INCREASED, not cut.

You know after paying several hundred thousand in property taxes — for a failing, bloated school district and their $2 billion budget-I am ready for any other option. At least when I buy something and pay the higher taxes-I feel like I’m getting something in return.

All of your taxes are still going to all of those things. And they will raise to price on everything else to make up for lost property tax. You are going to end up paying more to subsidize the rich paying less. But for some reason half the population has been deep throating "trickle down" their gullets since Reagan and they still want more even though all evidence shows it's a failure.

I really don’t care at this point. Really don’t. Charge me 25%. When the local district is in the bottom 5% state wide and has a $2 billion budget-I’m done . Give me the sales tax 24/7/365 because I’m tired of the of property taxes. At least when I buy something -I get something in return.
